FASHION FORWARD: IN VOGUE WITH TORY BURCH’S SOUTHAMPTON ESTATE

February 22, 2012
  • Share
Main hallway with black and white checkered marble floor and a view into the wood paneled library

I’m fascinated with the brand that fashion designer Tory Burch has built…I am now equally fascinated with her rather regal Southampton estate!

Was browsing around Vogue’s website and noticed they had a bit about Tory’s stunning home in the Hamptons.  Very traditional but a place I could certainly all home!

With the help of architect and designer Daniel Romualdez, and decorator Eve Hood, Tory created a grand home that also looks extremely comfortable and accessible.

I read this New York Magazine article on Tory Burch and her ex-husband Chris Burch this weekend while driving out to my parents’ house with my sis DS.  What was most interesting about the article was reading about how Tory’s company got started and has grown.  She had a vision and made it happen. Just a few years after starting her company, Tory Burch the brand is valued in the billions.  Wow.

So let’s see…Tory is fashionable, has a fantastic country house, and has built an amazing business…not to mention she’s a mom of 3!  My design crush and friend of COCOCOZY Jonathan Adler might have to inch over a bit and make some room for Tory Burch on my design icon bench!

Anyhooo…here’s Tory’s little country house…

Needlepoint Louis XVI chairs, an antique crystal chandelier and coral colored drapes make for a very pleasant traditional living room. (above)

Woven furniture and blue and white china are mainstays in Tory’s sunny solarium. (above)

Outdoor dining at its best! (above)

The long drive leading to the brick Georgian style house makes for a very grand entrance or exit! (above)

Not sure where to start here with what I like…I like so much!  I love the outdoor dining room and I love that printed wallpaper in the formal dining room to name a few!  Lovely home!  What do you think? Do you like this home?  Is it too formal or just right for you (I imagine myself living in a castle one day, so no home is too formal for me)? What do you think of Tory Burch’s style at home?

Happy Wednesday!

The dining room is so classical and original, just like Tory. The thought and skill that it took to do this project is something to be admired.

I love Tory Burch… but those first two pictures are sooo cluttered. Did the photo stylists have to cram every cool piece she had into the shot? With that much pattern and texture, less accessories would have been more.

It could not be lovelier. Refreshing to see beautiful fabrics and treasured and collected objects. After seeing the 1000th house in all white covered furniture and an absence of pretty objects, it looks new again to see this home. While I know it wont be to everyone’s taste who prefers spare interiors, those of us who love handsome fabrics will revel in it. Thanks for sharing.

Its very lovely. Beautiful and elegant, but to me its a little too ‘old’ for her. I was expecting a slightly more fun and eclectic interior from Tory

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
