FASHION FORWARD: WHICH DRESS SHOULD I WEAR TO THE EMMYS

Carlos Miele navy silk beaded one shoulder gown
Dress option #1 – Carlos Miele navy silk beaded one shoulder gown I bought in Paris last month. (above and below)

Here we go…I’m going to ask a favor of you.  Please help me choose what I wear to the Emmys on Sunday.  I can’t figure it out…so I need some help.

As most of you know…only because I’ve been blabbing about it for the last week…I am going to the Emmy Awards tomorrow!  Woot woot.  I’ve been three times already.  First time was fun because we sat in row 7; second time was fun too;  and truthfully the third time was so boring that we left the show early and met up with some agents at The Palm across the street until the show was over and the parties started.

So there you have it… my last experience at the Emmys was a bore…not what most of you would expect for a sparkling Hollywood event.  Boring.  That was three years ago  I think…when they had a round stage and lots of hosts or something…I don’t really recall.

This year, I am hoping it will be fun.  I think it will be.  I know it will.  I hope.  I’ve been working everyone I know who is going up to a frenzy about what they will wear and what I will wear to walk the red carpet.  It is all absurd to a certain extent and recognize there are people who have real issues and problems to deal with in the world.  I am not that superficial to only think that my Emmy dress is the most important thing in the world.  But since I am going to the Emmys, I must consider what to wear…I don’t think it would be appropriate to walk down the red carpet in my J Brand skinny jeans, some black Prada flats and a long sleeve C&C v neck t-shirt (what I am wearing now).  It might mix things up a bit if I did wear this look down the red carpet.

So here is my little dilemma of the day…which of these two dresses should I wear to the Emmy Awards?

This first one is a silk navy Carlos Miele gown that I bought in Paris last month.  I am nervous about wearing a one shoulder dress.

The second dress is an old Badgley Mischka I have had for years…you can’t really tell but it is a substantial black evening gown with a bit of a train and has a bit of a mermaid shape to it.

Dress option #2 – Badgley Mischka gown from my closet. Black with sweetheart neckline, velvet, tulle  and a bow. (above and below)

Beaded Judith Leiber clutch purse
Cute clutch purse – a beaded Judith Leiber bag I borrowed from my sis DS; I would wear this with Dress option #2. (above)

My Emmy ticket is inside! (above)

Okay…so it is between the Carlos Miele and the Badgley Mischka…I’ll tally up your comments and decide what to wear partially based on what you say.  Help.

Just so you know, I am most comfortable in the Badgley Mischka – it is in my comfort zone.  I feel like I need to do something out of my comfort zone though.  Hmmmm….

Look forward to reading your comments.  I leave at about 2PM PST on Sunday for the show…so up until then, I will be checking your comments!

Happy Saturday!

xo
Coco

P.S. Update Sunday morning: Thank you for all of the comments. Running to get my hair done…and still waiting to decide until last minute so any and all feedback is welcome. Have read each and every comment so far…seems the Carlos Miele is coming out slightly ahead in the popular opinion…but it is close so far…I’m hoping the Badgley Mischka gets a few more (LOL!)!  So much fun and so helpful hearing from you all!

P.P.S. Make sure to check out the comments on COCOCOZY Facebook too!

Carlos Miele. Have fun. My friends who’ve gone before say that unless you’re nominated(are you?) its not that much fun. The parties afterwards however 😉

Comfort Zone or not, the BM dress is best for the event. And you’ve already borrowed the clutch bad for it!!! No brainer.

Dress Number 1. Why is no one else commenting though. Perhaps they want you to keep shopping? I am actually mixed. I love the lines of dress Number 2 better but not sure about the subtle stripes in it.

Can you wear both? If both look equally good on you: #1 looks red carpetish with the bling at the shoulder–and the navy is kind of different and fresh. I’d wear that for red carpet and program. Then for the parties afterward, change into #2, so you have fun wearing both. Would use black purse for both–black and blue go together I’ve read.

Badgley Mischka would be my choice for you! I think that this event is not the place to step out of your comfort zone. You’ll be aware of that bare shoulder all night, and enjoy yourself just a teensy bit less because of it. Save the personal growth for another occasion, dahhling. Go with what will make you look and feel great (and comfortable). And good point about the clutch. Badgley Mischka for sure.

Dress #1, no doubt about it. You will look original, elegant. Stunning! The one shoulder detail is really a turning heads statement. Your dress #2 may be a couture art piece but is… plain and that detail in the back probably makes your “mermaid” contour too heavy 😉

Go with Carlos! The other dress is also very sexy & beautiful, but Carlos has sparkle and with that tissue it must move beautifully. Don’t wear a necklace with Carlos, wear earrings and if you want a bracelet on your opposite arm, but really you don’t need much jewelry with this dress. Even though you said the Emmy’s were boring last time, it must be so exciting to live in that world! Have a great time. I think either dress is a knockout but Carlos had me at hola! Let us know what you picked and how you accessorized. 🙂

Since you have been to the Emmys a few times before, you know how everything goes so I think it is a good place to test out a new dress as opposed to at a party where you will be more the center of attention. Also as the one shoulder shows less cleavage then the other and wrinkles from sitting probably show less too you might just find that this will be your more comfortable dress afterall. All depends on the shoulder fit, does it fit perfectly ie. shoulder doesn’t slip down and do you have a comfortable bra to wear underneath? Let us know what you picked and how you accessorized. 🙂

I vote for #1 – but you must go with what you feel best in no matter what our numbers look like! It’s not the dress – it’s YOU in the dress and how that makes you feel.

I say have a wee glass of bubbly, try them both on – take a quick pic of you in each – then look at shots side by side and make a decision with your heart not your head. Then don’t look back.

It seems to me you can’t go wrong with either and it will be a fun night and great people watching. ENJOY!

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
