FRENCH FINESSE – A CHARMING COUNTRY MANOR!

November 15, 2011

Pink and grey foyer in a French mansion with stone tile floor, lantern light, double doors leading to the living room and an arched cabinet

Perche is a bucolic district just two hours south of Paris.  Known for its rolling hills, chateaus and manors, Perche is known for being an idyllic country setting.  Here in Perche sits this country manor…with its classic architecture and decor.  Texture, patterns and subtle color are the order of the day in this home’s interior design…all blending together to create a classic French home.

Pink and grey living room in a french mansion with black sofa, two pink wingback chairs, a marble fireplace wth a traditiona mirror, paneled doors, chandelier covered in leaves and a long grey ottoman
Classic architecture complete with decorative moldings, a marble fireplace and paneled doors gets a modern twist with the grey, black and pink color palette. (above)
A sitting area with classic Toile de Jouy wallpaper, two blue chairs white white nailhead trim around a small round table and a large cabinet with glass doors

Kitchen in a french mansion with a black island, grey cabinets and drawers, a chandelier, black counter tops, a stone tile floor and a pink trash can
A large black kitchen island contrasts perfectly with the grey cabinetry throughout this large country kitchen (oh and notice the pink trash can too!)(above)
bedroom in a french mansion with pink and grey wallpaper, a painted checkered wood floor, a white fireplace, paneled doors and a Louis XIV chair
A checkered painted wood floor in soft grey and pink adds visual interest to the bedroom floor. (above)

My favorite room is the kitchen and then comes the foyer.  I would happily take this house if someone offered it to me.  Would just need to figure out how I would do my day job from France! 🙂

What do you think of this home?  Like it or leave it?  Please advise!

Happy Tuesday!

the kitchen is also my favorite room, it’s just gorgeous, I don’t know if it has to do with the island being a different color, because now that is my thing, or if it’s because of the grey, that is MY color.

I really love the kitchen. The contrast of the dark island with the light cabinetry makes things really beautiful. And the touches of gold really warm things up!

It’s beautiful – all of it, very appropriate to a country home/manor! I could get used to it 😀

Gray and pink is always a winning combination–tres chic! I love the painted floor but I’m wondering when the travertine floor was added. French limestone would have been a better choice. Otherwise, the spaces are lovely with many interesting architectural details.

    Best, Cindy

What a beautiful home. i love the touches of pink and the pink walls. I tend to choose a brighter shade pf pink myself because of the harsh sunlight here in Texas.
