Boho Living – COCOCOZY Archive 2017

Let’s take a virtual tour of Emily Henderson’s boho living room design from 2017.

Okay…in so many ways I love this bohemian living room.  Fresh eclectic decor in a bright space with high ceilings.  A fresh bohemian living room with all of the right mix of things! If anyone is looking for boho living ideas then this blog is for you! This space encapsulates the essence of boho living with its mix of diverse furniture and boho living room decor. The room comes together harmoniously.

I know this sounds so simple, but I feel like you can’t go wrong with a room with white walls, good natural light, and one or two interesting architectural details…then you build from there.  This room has so much visual interest from every angle…including the rattan fans above the fireplace mantel, the white painted vintage looking chest, the midcentury modern style woven chair, and the I am not usually a cactus fan…but all of the cacti (cactus or cactuses…grammatically unsure of which plural of cactus is correct…argh) actually work!

What is Bohemian Interior Design?

Bohemian interior design includes a playful aesthetic that combines various cultures, perspectives, and unique artistic expressions. Designs usually emphasize organic materials and nature.

When designing a boho home, always think about the different layers of a room. It’s better to start off with a clean slate. Pick a base color (preferably a neutral paint color) and then add lots of textures and patterns. Continue building layers with different organic materials including natural woods, rope, fringes, stone, and more. Remember to have fun with your design!

For those who love the playfulness of a colorful boho living room but don’t want to commit to a complete boho look, this luxe living room design should help inspire you. This brownstone apartment featured above is from fashion designer, Ulla Johnson’s, Fort Greene row house. Her living room design is a combination of chic and luxe living mixed with bohemian decor. Try adding unique boho living room wall decor to elevate your living room decor.

A well-designed bunk room isn’t just for kids. It’s about making every guest feel like they got the best bed in the house. Built-in storage, thoughtful lighting, and bedding that actually makes you want to climb up top.

This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎 This Toronto home just redefined “warm modern.” 🤎
Designer Ashley Montgomery layered reclaimed wood beams, brass hardware, and deep walnut millwork against soft plaster walls, and somehow every single room still feels calm. The olive built-ins in the living room, the arched oak doors, that brass shower enclosure in the primary bath... this is what happens when someone actually commits to a palette.

How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️How much summer can you fit into a few days? ☀️⛵️
I flew from Los Angeles to Nantucket for a very quick trip and I’m planning to find out.
Beautiful beaches, boats, gorgeous interiors, time with friends and one last little dose of August.
Turns out you don’t always need a whole week to feel like you got away. 🤍
So happy to be visiting bestie @francesgfayard and her husband Calvin and my godson Carter for a little last minute end of summer travel. New England at its best. Day 1 was a beautiful day. 🤩
You are not going to feel motivated every day. AndYou are not going to feel motivated every day. And you don’t have to.
Some days you’ll feel inspired and everything seems to click. Other days, you’ll question what you’re doing and wonder if any of it is actually working.
The important thing is not to mistake a slow day for a step backward.
You can keep going even when the motivation isn’t there. Some days, showing up is the progress.
Save this for the days when you need the reminder. 🤍

The best parts of Paris might not be on your itineThe best parts of Paris might not be on your itinerary. 🇫🇷
Some of my favorite travel moments are the ones you don’t plan: the pretty street you turn onto, the café you notice while walking by, the building you stop to look at for no particular reason.
So if you’re planning a Paris trip, don’t fill every hour. Leave room to wander.
