How to Create A Chic Fourth of July Table Context

June 28, 2022
  • Share

The Fourth of July is almost here. Can you believe it? Before you start shopping for fireworks, I’m sharing my guide to creating a chic Fourth of July table setting. Make your friends and family feel like they escaped to a backyard oasis. Your holiday table can be more than just red, white, and blue.

You all know I love throwing dinner parties. My courtyard is one of my favorite places in my home to host dinners with friends and family. People gather around the table for good food and even better conversation. But my favorite part is decorating the table. Read below to find out how to set the perfect table for the July holiday.

How to Create a Chic Table Setting

Red, white, and blue is the color palette to use for this holiday. It’s easy to run to your local store and buy all of the patriotic products you can find. If you’re looking to create a chic design then it’s crucial to have a vision before you shop. Choose one color as the main focus for your table and build off of it. Start with a white table cloth and white plates then layer in pops of color for an effortless patriotic tablescape.

The most important tip for creating a chic Fourth of July table is by investing in reusable tableware. Don’t let most of your decor sit in storage all year. It’s a waste of money and space. Invest in neutral staples like flatware and plates to use at every holiday dinner. Then accessories with red, white, and blue accents. I prefer navy blue linen napkins and blue hydrangeas as the centerpiece for an elegant look. The matching blue tones will create a cohesive table. Make sure to add your own style to make it unique.

See my picks for a chic Fourth of July table setting below.

It started with an invitation. I met @hugobesnier_ It started with an invitation. I met @hugobesnier_ , founder and designer of luxury furniture brand @hartisparis_ at a small gathering in the 7ème, near the Musée d’Orsay. I was there with my new friends, Scarlette and Sarah.
The apartment itself was incredible! Tall ceilings, terrazzo floors, right along the Seine, but what really stood out was the furniture.
Turns out, it was Hugo's exquisite work.
The pieces are designed around everyday gestures: sitting, leaning, resting, but interpreted in a way that feels elevated and intentional. There’s a balance of structure and softness, where architectural lines meet more organic textures and forms.
He invited me back the next day to see everything more clearly, outside of the party setting, and it completely changed how I experienced it. The pieces feel intentional and refined, with a strong focus on material and form.
