Ideas for Iron Bed Love

August 12, 2015

Iron bed lattice

So if you follow me on COCOCOZY Instagram @cococozy you know the news.  TE and I moved into our Malibu house! Wooohooo! We are so thrilled to be here. Finally!  It is absolutely wonderful. No doubt about it!

Full disclosure though…we are living in the middle of construction with no furniture but we made it.

We have gorgeous views of the ocean every morning. I posted one today on Instagram so you can see our view. And the house is coming together. We had good friends BN, SN, TO and JO over this weekend. It was so much fun to finally have people over to our house.

There are so many details still in the works with our contractor like stairs, doors, closing windows, paint, stair railings and oh yes…we do not have a functioning kitchen yet.  Every morning Even though we have so much to do as far as finishing the house, I randomly have been picking things I covet. Hence this post.

I like this iron bed frame for some reason. Think it could be wonderful in our guest room. Sent it to TE the other day…I think he thought I was kooky because we do not even have a living room sofa yet! Why not start with a guest bed? Right.

I like the idea of a simple iron bed with white bedding and some COCOCOZY pillows of course. Simple wood side tables and a gorgeous ocean view and some of TE’s black and white photography on the walls and then done!

Anyhoo….food for thought!  What do you think of this bed for a guest room?  I think it is a good price too!

I can so relate. We moved into our new construction home months before it was finished. Slept in cots for weeks because we didn’t want to have the movers bring in our furniture until the house was finished. The building department said we could live in the house as long as it had one working bathroom and a working kitchen, so off we went. It was like camping in a construction site! We now have great memories and good stories. Congratulations on your new home!

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just full, total, committed red.
From crimson kitchens to scarlet bathrooms, swipe through the spaces that prove one color is always enough.
Which one would you live in? 🔴

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
