Yoooohoooo…it’s LIGHTING WEEK on COCOCOZY!

I’m just doing it. Instead of procrastinating…I’m starting this lighting themed week with little or no plan. Each day of this week, I will feature at least one post about lighting of some sort.

This first LIGHTING WEEK post comes from my “photo archives” (whatever that means…but sounds wonderfully official). This is a photo from the master bedroom at friend Juliana Jaoudi’s house in Venice Beach, California. (I featured some of Julie’s darling house earlier this year on this site.)

Decor is simple and clean – low modern upholstered bed, a great dark wood armoire for storage, beautiful french doors, neutral colors – but what completes the room and adds fabulous flair is this metal Moroccan lantern.

This very large metal pierced chandelier (lantern) makes a huge design statement in this room…the perfect lighting addition!

The lantern is perfectly positioned in the center of the room and over the foot of the bed. (above)

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just Red rooms. No half measures, no accent walls. Just full, total, committed red.
From crimson kitchens to scarlet bathrooms, swipe through the spaces that prove one color is always enough.

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
