My Christmas Tabletop Rehearsal – Video

Christmas Tabletop Rehearsal Red Plaid Napkin

Okay…this year, as usual, I am way into setting the holiday table for my family Christmas Eve dinner. I usually gather a lot of things and flowers and greenery and play it by ear on the day of dinner. This year, I decided to do a Christmas tabletop rehearsal! Who does that? Right? Well now I do! The reason…my holiday tabletop settings in year’s past have looked more like holiday wedding dinner tables…click here to see last year’s holiday table. This year I want the table to say CHRISTMAS all the way!

I did get a little help from my friends on this holiday tablescape. Via Facetime, when I was veering towards a blue and white table, best of friend AM suggested red plaid napkins. And then, I ran into my design friend Tom Newman at the store and he helped me pick out the crystal.

Anyhoooo…so I ran over to the COCOCOZY offices in Beverly Hills this morning with our marketing social media Director VS.  I and lugged 4 of everything to our COCOCOZY Headquarters to set up a mock dining table.  This means I can figure out what extra  I need to make this year’s table just perfect. Well, first off, I forgot to lug wine glasses and forgot some plates and some of the other decorative items but essentially I was able to pull together a decent enough rehearsal to know what I will be doing in 2 days.

Here is what I brought with me for the tabletop dress rehearsal:
1. Linen table cloth
2. Striped Runner
3. Safari Branches – 1 bunch
4. 1 Small wreath
5. Silver chargers
6. Grandmother’s silverware – The back of the silverware is monogrammed with my Grandmother’s initials!
7. Crystal goblets (forgot the crystal wine glasses at home!)
8. Plates
9. Votive candles and hurricane lantern
10. Anything silver I could find
11. Red plaid napkins
12. Silver napkin rings

My actual dinner party table for Christmas Eve will seat 11 people – 5 down either side and one at the end. What I realized is with this rehearsal is that I will need a lot more greenery, more hurricanes, more silver items and more votives to fill out the table.  Take a look and let me know what you think?  My time is running out, so let me know!

Here is a video of me and VS this morning. I am wearing the sparkle navy sweater…VS is in the camel!

Happy Holidays! I am off to get the rest of the decor items…and some small takeaway gifts for each guest. Then I’ve got to shop for my meal. So much to do…so little time! I’m off and running!

Beautiful – love the plaid napkins. Can you share where they were purchased?

    Thank you.

Summer sale season is here, and we are not holding back. 👏
This is the time of year to finally grab those pieces you’ve been eyeing all season. The good news? Major markdowns are happening right now across some of the best brands.
Our tip: Shop with intention. Know your palette, know your fit, and choose pieces that work with what you already own, not just because they’re on sale.
We’ve already done the hard work and created a Summer Sale Shopping Board filled with our favorite finds. A Shopping Board is like your own storefront. It’s a curated collection of products you can shop yourself or share with others to earn when they purchase through your links.
✨ Want to make it yours?
Comment SALE and we’ll send you the link. Then just tap “Add This Board” to save it to your Chirpyest account. From there, you can shop the collection, share it with your audience, earn from your recommendations, and get cashback on your own purchases. 💛

What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

If you only have 10 minutes, focus on these three things:
1. Make the bed. It instantly makes the whole room look cleaner.
2. Fold or straighten the throw blanket and pillows.
3. Clear visible clutter from nightstands and the floor.
That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.
Save this for the next time you need a fast bedroom reset. 🔖

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
