MY FAVORITES FROM THE WINTER ANTIQUES SHOW!

People hanging out at a bar
The social scene at the Young Collectors Night at the Winter Antiques Show in New York! (above)

Last Thursday night I went to the Young Collector’s Night at the Winter Antiques Show in New York City. The people running the show were kind enough to host me and best of friend AM that evening. I have gone to this particular antiques show party for the last three years…I enjoy it every time. It feels like ground hogs day though every time too. Each time, I have taken best of friend AM and usually her husband JE attends too but he couldn’t this time because he was working.

Here’s the rundown of what has happened each time. We arrive at the party at the Armory on the Upper East Side. I immediately see some antique furniture I love. I start snapping pictures. Best of friend AM bolts ahead of me and finds antique jewelry to look at while I fumble with all my electronic devices. I somehow find her in the crowd of well clad New Yorkers. And then repeat again. So the evening is typically spent with gawking over antiques, dropping cameras and phones and looking for best of friend AM. I have not once socialized with any of the party goers once…and I’ve even seen some designers I know. Hmmm…next time will have to figure out some sort of tracking device for best of friend AM and also some sort of system for all of my portable electronics!

Anyhoooo…I love this party and antiques show. So much to see…so much inspiration.

When I first walked in, I saw this table below…it is my favorite piece in the entire show!

Round table inlaid with wood and ivory
Anglo-Indian carved and inlaid rosewood, ebony, mahogany, bone and ivory circular table. The top is formed spiraling petals.  Circa 1830 (above and below)

“Dandelion” sculpture by Harry Bertoia. U.S.A.  1960’s. Gilded steel wire and marble. (above and below)

This last little table below was best of friend AM’s favorite piece in the entire show.

The Winter Antiques Show ended yesterday. No worried though. This fantastic party and antiques showcase happens every year in late January/early February. It is great because proceeds from events like the opening parties go to benefit the East Side House Settlement, an organization that helps kids with educational tools and support.

Thanks to Josh S. for inviting us along!

Happy Monday!

P.S. Am back in Los Angeles. Back to work today on the real job front. Also, lots of work to do on fulfilling all of our market orders for COCOCOZY. This weekend I did a lot of catching up…but there is always so much more to do!

P.P.S. I almost bought the wallpaper prints above. They are $1800 each. What do you think. They are the original block prints of early 20th century wallpaper designs. Do you like? Should I buy (I really shouldn’t…not in the budget right now)? Or is it okay to just admire from afar? Weigh in please!

P.P.P.S. Friday was a crazy day at COCOCOZY. On Thursday, we had an order for 50 COCOCOZY Lucite Trays that we had to get out of the door. We made it in time but just right at the FedEx deadline. I hopped off a plane at noon on Friday, got home, changed clothes, sped down to COCOCOZY HQ in Beverly Hills and then spent 2 hours buying packing supplies, packing trays and running back and forth to Fedex. Wow. Cutting it close but made it! Phew! Needless to say might be time to hire again!

Sharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. ESharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. Every day for the last few months has been the greatest day ever here. Even days that are not event filled feel special in Paris.
Started with French class on this day. I was taking classes at L'Alliance Français because living here means actually trying to belong here and speak the language.
Then off to the Hôtel de Crillon @rosewoodhoteldecrillon ,a historic palace hotel overlooking Place de la Concorde, known for its timeless interiors and quiet kind of luxury, catching up with a friend like it was the most ordinary thing...in extraordinary place.
So even though nothing momentous happened...wanted to show you what my every greatest day life looks like in Paris.
This city keeps surprising me. 🖤

A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not overpowering, just enough to warm everything up, walls, upholstery, even the smallest details.
It shifts the mood completely. Calmer, softer, and a little more lived in.
Save this if you’re leaning toward softer, warmer spaces. 🌸

What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so hard to look away from is the deliberate clash Sophie Dries @sophiedries_ created and didn’t try to resolve.
The bones of the apartment are pure Haussmann: ornate cornicing, carved boiserie, a marble fireplace with a gilded mirror. Everything a 19th-century Parisian apartment should be. Then she placed a near-black dining table with brass-legged stools into the middle of it. A raw concrete-look bathroom behind the grandeur. Dark, sculptural objects on surfaces that were built for delicate things.
It works because she didn’t try to blend the two, she let them sit in contrast. The apartment feels lived-in and specific because of it.
→ Save this if you’re mixing old architecture with contemporary furniture.

From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the pap From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the paper lantern just fits. It softens the room, diffuses the light, and rounds out even the sharpest architectural edges without demanding any attention. 🏮
Are you into paper lanterns, or do you prefer a more structured statement light? 🧐

Streets of #Paris. 📍 Rue de Castiglione — Laid ouStreets of #Paris. 📍
Rue de Castiglione — Laid out under Napoleon in the early 1800s, this neoclassical street connects Place Vendôme to the Tuileries Garden in one clean, symmetrical line.
Place de Furstenberg — A tucked-away square in Saint-Germain-des-Prés that was once home to the painter Eugène Delacroix, and still feels like little has changed.
Les Antiquaires on Rue du Bac — A street with centuries of history, now best known for its cluster of antique dealers trading in furniture, paintings, and curiosities and home to @les_antiquaires_paris bistro which is an easy spot to grab a bite near the Seine.
Musée du Louvre — Built as a medieval fortress in the 12th century, it became a royal palace, then the world’s most visited museum, home to the Mona Lisa and tens of thousands of other works.
Église Saint-Sulpice — Paris’s second-largest church, with a gnomon installed inside to track the sun’s position and help calculate the liturgical calendar.
Les Deux Magots — The Saint-Germain café where Simone de Beauvoir, Sartre, and Hemingway once gathered, and a lasting symbol of Paris’s literary culture.
Place Vendôme — Commissioned under Louis XIV, this octagonal square is anchored by the Vendôme Column, cast from cannons captured at the Battle of Austerlitz.
Shops, people, and buildings that make you stop for a second and look up. Every corner feels different. Old, detailed, and full of life. Sometimes this is the best part. Just being here. ❤️
