NORDIC RUSTIC COTTAGE | 7 GREAT DESIGN Inspiration

nordic rustic cottage black exterior

I wonder whether I would trade my little tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills for this Nordic rustic cottage in Denmark?

Here’s what I like about this cottage…

1. Stone porch –   Love this rustic real stone stairway leading up to the house. Sets the tone for a refined rustic vibe inside.

2. Black exterior – It is bold to have a house painted black on the exterior.  I like the way this black shows the grain of the wood.

3. Barn front door – The front door screams rustic country lifestyle. The double door with the slats of reclaimed wood really works to set overall tone.

4. Black, white, grey – The color scheme works…keeping it simple without a lot of fuss is appealing to me these days.

5. Light wood floors – The wood floors are just that perfect tone of light…looks like they are slightly white washed planks.

6. Black kitchen – yet another bold move for a small space that also mirrors the outside exterior color.  Love that the kitchen has no upper cabinets and that the lower ones are all black.  Perfection.

7. Cheerfully bright – All of the windows and natural light make this white wall interior even more bright and cheerful

Really love the pounded metal vessel sink basin and the wood plank counters in the bathroom shown above.  Just the perfect bit of rustic whimsy!

Happy Friday!

P.S.  Had a great dinner last night with dear friend AT who is visiting from London, my guy TE, ALG and VA at Osteria Mozza here in Los Angeles.  Fabulous food. I ordered a kale salad and gluten free pasta (best of friend AM and I have given up things for Lent again this year.  She gave up everything…I only gave up flour/wheat and sugar).  Funny conversation.  TE was a sport hanging out with all of the girls.

That really is amazingly cozy and seems like a place you could use to hide away from the world. Peace! Cheryl

OH I’m with you on the black exterior, and gray (always) for the win.

This is amazing. Not a huge fan of the flooring in the Entry but the rest is fab!

Beautiful vessel sink & faucet. I’m wondering if you’d be willing to share the brand of these?
