Paris Apartment

Paris Apartment White Exterior Flower Box

Every year my mom rents an apartment in Paris for the entire summer…for months she lives in Paris and has this adventurous life and the only way my sister DS and I can see her is if we pack up and head to Europe for a few weeks and now we’ve been in this routine for so long, I can’t picture our family story without the ‘Paris Apartment’. Every few years we change locations so this apartment has been ‘home’ for us the past few summers and it might be my favorite yet. It’s bright and picturesque and the views are just unreal…Paris is my favorite city I’ve decided (although this recent trip to Seville is coming in at a close second!) The culture and beauty and resilience of Paris is remarkable…it is rich with history, even right down to the architecture and design of the apartments…herringbone floors, clean lines, romantic detailing in the fireplace and window fixtures…I could go on and on about this apartment, actually when we got to Paris I refused to let anyone settle in until I had photographed every square inch of the space…DS and mom were not amused let me tell you.

The trip this year had so many highlights…from the Champagne Tour to the first few days in Spain, it was so purposefully tranquil…actually quite necessary if you only knew the schedule I stepped back into returning to LA…looking at these pictures reminds me to breath deep and seek the adventures even in my busy-ness…happy weekend…

Would your mother consider adopting a 60yr old “child”?

What kind of material is around the fireplace? Tile? Very unusual.
Are there interior or exterior shutters?
Did you find you had enough light with the curtains covering so much of the windows?
    Very curious. Thanks!
Your Paris tradition sounds delightful. Lucky family!

The apt is beautiful. Your mother sounds terrific. Never comp;ain about packing up to visit her, it’s a privalidge and an adventure every year for you What kinds of things do you girls take with you there to make it feel like your home? Are there cute restaurants you go to ourtside of the apt? Have you run into the same neighnors after a few years? What do you girls do almost every time you go there in the summer? More pictures please!!

Lucky, lucky you!! You are truly living the dream of so many who would kill for an annual trip to Paris in your own apartment! Would love to see photos of the bedrooms.

Wonderful! What neighborhood is the apt in? I lived in Paris 15 years ago and hope to spend some time there again soon and would love to know the areas you like! Thanks!

Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive.Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive. 🌸
One thing I’ve learned is that every outdoor space needs a focal point. It gives your eye a place to land and makes the whole space feel more intentional.
In this courtyard, the bougainvillea naturally becomes that focal point, adding color, height, and movement without overwhelming the space.
If you’re designing your own patio or garden, start with one standout feature, then let everything else support it.
Save this tip for your next outdoor project. ✨

Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surr Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surrey, restored back to its former grandeur.
Grade II listed and stripped of most of its original character by previous owners, this 9,000 sqft home with seven bedrooms, and five bathrooms was brought back to life for a French-Swedish couple raising two young kids here. The brief: Parisian luxe with a Scandinavian twist, and a design calm enough to keep the grand proportions feeling intimate.
Covet Noir rebuilt what had been lost: full plasterwork, raised & fielded panels, a bespoke decorative ceiling, and added a cantilevered limestone staircase with Nero Marquina cabochon inlay in the entrance hall. The material palette leans into marble and alabaster, softened with boucle and brushed cottons, chosen to hold up to two kids and two dogs without losing the elegance. Antique furniture and architectural fittings were sourced throughout to keep the project sustainable, alongside ground source heating.
Grand bones, calm hand. This is the kind of restoration we could look at all day. 🤍

A great vaulted ceiling doesn’t just add height. It changes how a room feels entirely. The best ones make you stop, look up, and never want to leave.

Before you start moving furniture, ask yourself thBefore you start moving furniture, ask yourself these three questions:
Does this improve the room’s function?
Does it create a better focal point?
Does it make the space easier to walk through?
If the answer is “no” to all three, maybe it’s just the rearranging itch talking. 😅
Save this for the next time you’re tempted to move every piece of furniture in your house.

A 90s home in Amman, Jordan, entirely remodelled by local artisans. Neo-Florentine bones, Levant-eclectic sensibility, arched passageways, and a flea-market-meets-commissioned-art collection that makes every wall feel intentional.
What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.
