SEE THIS HOUSE: A $12.7 MILLION TRIBECA PENTHOUSE!

June 21, 2012

open plan living room in a NYC penthouse with a massive skylight, wood floors and windows

My one essential criteria for any living space is lots of light…lots and lots of light.

Well this $12.7 million dollar New York City penthouse has the right amount of light.

This 5800 square foot Tribeca loft apartment is listed by Douglas Elliman Realty. It boasts 4 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, a wood burning fireplace, wide plank Brazilian hardwood floors throughout and an amazing outdoor space with a garden, deck , outdoor kitchen and great city views.

I love the 16 foot wide skylight that spans above the center of the apartment letting light pour into the space.

Take a look at this million dollar listing in today’s SEE THIS HOUSE!

Den in a NYC apartment with a massive skylight, animal hide rug, two matching armchairs and tow matching rocking chairs with woven backs around a small round wood table
open plan den with view of kitchen, dining room and stairs up to the second level
second floor living room with large area rug, skylight and sliding glass doors leading to the terrace

cozy bedroom with floor length curtains, wood floors, a chest at the foot of the bed and a large wood wardrobe

bathroom with wood floor but the walls, appliances (step in tub, sink, counter) are covered in light blue tiles

terrace with outdoor grilling station, arm chairs, table and sofa with view of second floor living room

lower level floor plan

upper level floor plan

What do you think of this apartment? Would you take it or leave it? Do you like the light or is it too much? I would definitely change the decor…and the kitchen and baths…but I think I could live with the bones of this space. You?

Happy Thursday!

xo
Coco

P.S.  Last night had a fun dinner at a new French restaurant here in L.A. called Faux Pas.  Was fun trying out a new place.

P.P.S.  Had to be over at COCOCOZY HQ at 7:30am to meet the electrician who is putting up gorgeous new pendant lights in the conference room.  They look good.  (BTW, am calling our tiny new office space in Beverly Hills “HQ” for “headquarters” even though I don’t know if a space so small can be deemed a main office of anything).

P.P.P.S.  I am loving my new Yves St. Laurent Trib Too slingbacks.  I got them on sale and the ones I have are navy.  I’ve worn them almost every day since getting them a few weeks ago.  3-4″ heels that are totally comfortable…I know…sounds kooky but it is true!

Not too impressed for that amount of money. I think one of the bedrooms was kinda small, and while the bathroom color was nice, not digging the tile.

But I always look forward to your blogs everyday.

I love it! I love all the light and how open it is. If I had 12 mil to blow I’d probably do it on this place.

I would def take it! And being a lover of aqua blue I would stick with the bathroom, for a while though. The bedrom though has to be redecorated immediately!
Btw, I love your stuff! Especially the blankets! (and I mised the competition with like one hour:)

Agree with the lovely light in the apartment. Not sure about some of the bedroom furniture though, but overall you can’t say anything but NICE about this place 🙂

Holy natural light, this penthouse is fabulous. Minus the furniture. But that’s an easy fix 🙂

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
