THIS HAMBURG HOUSE WOULD MAKE ANY MOTHER PROUD

Exterior of a white Hamburg home with a red door

Nicky Graebert’s second family home in Hamburg, Germany
ALL PHOTOS IN THIS POST COURTESY OF NICKY GRAEBERT , HIS MOM AND DAD!
Well here is another home…done in true Nicky Graebert’s mom’s style.
A traditional exterior, where conventional tradition is left at the front door…with interiors that are modern, playful, colorful and adventuresome. I like the fact that Nicky’s mom uses color and lighting so wisely and boldly throughout her interiors.
In an earlier post, I showed you photos of a delightful first family home sent to me by Nicky Graebert of Hamburg, Germany. Nicky is the proud son of a design and decor enthusiast – his mom – Gabriele Schloss-Graebert .
As I said in my previous post, I met Nicky on A Small World…I actually was asking if anyone had photos they wanted to share of great designs and interiors. Nicky was the first to respond with a huge compliment to his mother, Gabriele, and her interior decor skills – she has artfully decorated three of the family’s homes – as a hobby I might add!

Living and dining rooms (above)In the dual living room dining room above, the dark hardwood floors are complimented with warm yellow walls. Modern well chosen minimal furniture provides conversation areas throughout the expansive room.

You’ll notice both the color and from time to time you’ll see antlers on the walls of the house…here’s what Nicky writes:
“…I am glad you like the style. I don’t mind if you use the pics as inspiration….
…the animals have been used mainly in one Hamburg home because the property is the extension of a huge park called “deer park”. One part of the park is actually like a small zoo……don’t worry we haven’t killed these animals…some of them are like 100 years old…
…the colour is my fathers idea…he does it in all our homes……
Best of luck with your blog.
Regards,
Nicky”

Check out this all-in-one-kitchen above. It seems to have a sink, cooktop and storage all in one unit. I love the light art above this kitchen console. It seems it changes with the mood of the chef!Red stairwell with tile landing, large mirror and a Buddha head

Red bedroom with graphic wallpaper, white crown molding, crystal chandelier and a Turkish rug

Bright color from Nicky’s dad in the stairwell and in the bedroom provide a rich classic accent to an otherwise modern interior. Contrast these rooms with the serene appeal of the grey toned ultra modern spa-like bathroom below.

Again, another well crafted and well designed home by Nicky Graebert’s mom, Gabriele (and his dad too we now have found)!

Thank you to the Graebart family for letting us “SEE THIS HOUSE”!!!
One more Graebart home to come….a lovely London pied-a-terre…stay tuned.
