BASEBALL STAR A-ROD’S $38 MILLION DOLLAR MIAMI HOME!

October 22, 2012

pool view of a Miami mansion with bar, white sofas under an arch and reclining chairs

Listed for a mere $38 million dollars by Sothebys International, this Miami mansion is being sold by New York Yankees baseball star Alex Rodriguez (aka A-Rod).

Apparently A-Rod bought this waterfront home a few years back for $24 million…then had it re-done…and now he is selling the nearly 20,000 square foot estate at a premium.

This amazing modern home has 9 bedrooms, 11 baths, 2 partial baths, two private docks, a home theater and much more.

Here’s how this little ol’ house is described on the Sotheby’s website:

“What Miami dreams are made of. Stunning modern masterpiece with uninterrupted Biscayne Bay and skyline views minutes from South Beach on the island’s most coveted residential street. Ultimate privacy guaranteed through gated, walled property line, 16 security cameras and 275 feet of water frontage with two docks. Contemporary, casual design with warm, organic materials including coral rock, white oak floors and Zen gardens make 20,000-plus square feet of over sized rooms feel like an intimate home. South Florida’s famous indoor/outdoor lifestyle at its finest with covered terraces, vanishing edge heated pool, outdoor kitchen and rooftop deck. Hurricane-ready with thick impact glass and full-home generator. Standalone gym featuring steam room is fitness fanatic’s paradise. Entertain to impress with gourmet kitchen, home theater and surround sound throughout. This is a one of a kind, once in a lifetime residence.”

What do you think of this modern Miami mansion?  Do you like or dislike?  Would you take it if someone offered it to you?

I have never considered living in Miami at all…ever…but if someone just happened to gift me this gem, I’d move…in a heartbeat.  Hello Miami!

Happy Monday!

P.S. A side note is that on that t.v. show the X-Factor…they have been using A-Rod’s house and calling Simon Cowell’s home where he auditions contestants.  It looks great on television!

P.P.S.  Had a fun weekend again…was out every night since Thursday…so I am a little tired.  Last night, I went to dinner at a place in West Hollywood called Laurel Hardware…it is awesome. Also had a nice dinner at Mr. Chow on Friday.  The best and most lovely night of all was on Saturday at Cafe Stella in Silverlake. It was like I was on a restaurant tour of L.A. this weekend!

P.P.P.S. Hope you have a nice week ahead!

A very nice home, although I was somewhat disappointed to notice in the first picture that the sofas and chairs are covered in slip covers. Slip covers? In a multi- million dollar home? Excuse me?

Quntessential Miami! I love the all white rooms and especially like the blue window frames in the living room framing the sea. I have to say, in my opinion, I believe good slipcovers work well in all homes no matter the price point.

The location is great and the house is obviously huge… but it’s not very inspiring is it? It’s impressive in scale but everything about it is just very plain. Straight white lines and glass everywhere. Like he spent 38 million on an office complex, not a house. One of the great aspects of modern design is the simplicity of it, yes, but also how the designer gets creative with that simplicity. Anyone else feel that way, or am I the only one feeling super underwhelmed by this house?

Summer sale season is here, and we are not holding back. 👏
This is the time of year to finally grab those pieces you’ve been eyeing all season. The good news? Major markdowns are happening right now across some of the best brands.
Our tip: Shop with intention. Know your palette, know your fit, and choose pieces that work with what you already own, not just because they’re on sale.
We’ve already done the hard work and created a Summer Sale Shopping Board filled with our favorite finds. A Shopping Board is like your own storefront. It’s a curated collection of products you can shop yourself or share with others to earn when they purchase through your links.

What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

If you only have 10 minutes, focus on these three things:
1. Make the bed. It instantly makes the whole room look cleaner.
2. Fold or straighten the throw blanket and pillows.
3. Clear visible clutter from nightstands and the floor.
That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.
Save this for the next time you need a fast bedroom reset. 🔖

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
