I really like this Hudson Valley farmhouse designed by Sisse Jonassen of SJ Interior Design and photographed so wonderfully by Emily Gilbert.
I need a weekend house…some place to get away during the fall and winter…to cozy up and do weekend things. Instead, I am stuck in my tiny tiny tiny cottage in the Hollywood Hills this weekend dealing with plumbing problems and sliding hillside issues…oy va voy…oh did I mention the fence that is in desperate need of repair?
I need a weekend getaway place…a place with no errands, no to do lists, just me, friends, several magazines and a good book (yes I said a book), with the only thing on the list is planning fun lunches and dinners with friends/family…oh my dog Mr. Boo could come too…
What do you think of this farmhouse? I really like the exposed beams and love the mix of traditional and modern in the decor. Nicely done.
Where do you go to get away on the weekends?
Happy Friday!

I love it! That table is great and I also really like the artwork.
Ms. Coco…you and I think alike!! I made my escape from the commute and the mad corporate world to a beautiful Victorian farmhouse on the high Kansas prairies. It has actually been more of an adjustment than I could have ever realized, due mostly to the lack of take-out and other conveniences that I am used to. But, hey, everything is a tradeoff. If you really want to get away for a weekend, com’on over to our developing B&B and help me decorate and plan. We are located @ http://www.toadhillgardens.com Love your blog!!

I’m DYING over those floors. Dying. I need them in my house now.
I love it. The they mixed vintage and modern. My fave
sometimes to cozy up in a quiet room with a hot cup of tea and just my thoughts is enough of a get away…though I do wish I had a weekend get away house!
thoughts on what makes designers are able to design something like this? very clever and details in workmanship make the interior of the House is very beautiful and stylish
I always fell for modern and rustic combinations. It has a different feel. Unique!
Coco I love the wood beams and floors, beautiful art, great decor!

That first image is my favorite, but I enjoyed so much about all of them. The mantle surprised me by being something I actually like…As for a weekend getaway, I think that is perfect. Any longer and, well…don’t we need vacations to recover from our longer vacations?!
Have a great weekend!

I love when rustic meets contemporary. It creates interest and is very creative.
Those modern chairs paired with all the english country furniture is fabulous! Such a chic unexpected combination! LOVE.
love your blog:)
interiors are so gorgeous
take a look at my new blog 🙂 thanx
Very nice! I love the eclectic mix of modern, traditional and rustic. We did some work on our fence this weekend, but I bet you don’t have a goat climbing over yours! 😉
Any idea where I could find that sideboard? Gorgeous!
This is gorgeous! I love exactly the same things you said…exposed beams and the mix of rustic wood and modern furniture. I’ll move in! 🙂
Thank you all so much!
