Small Apartment Decorating Ideas – Living Room Style

More great small apartment decorating ideas today – this time for the living room. Love this well appointed small West Village New York City apartment decorated by Australian design firm Arent & Pyke.  A modern small space that is not overly decorated but just as the right touches.

Here’s some ways to decorate and make your small space look bigger while still having a lot of style.

SMALL APARTMENT DECORATING TIPS

1. White Walls with Decorative Molding – I believe in a classic white wall in a small space.  That doesn’t mean you can’t spruce a white wall up with some texture by adding a simple wall molding or picture molding design.  So simple…just buy some molding or wood. Nail or even glue it to walls and then paint it to match.

2. Bold Accent Furniture – Keep the room relatively neutral but then add a few really bold pieces of accent furniture to make a design statement.

3. No Coffee Table – Look at where you can pare back furniture.  In this small living room, a coffee table would have cluttered the tiny space…so the designer made the choice to go without one and it works.  If you need something to set a drink on, use a stylish small space saving side table.

4.  Rug should tie in color scheme – To bring things together in the space, make sure your rug ties in your major colors without being too overwhelmingly bold.

Good solutions on conveying personal style in a smaller space without compromising design fundamentals.

Designed by @bychenai, a prolific and talented London based wedding and events planner, this wedding is a study in thoughtful design and artful creative direction. We say well done Chenai!
Long tables arranged in a maze-like formation created a striking design, while still allowing 350 guests to move throughout the space. A rich brown and gold palette brought warmth and depth, paired with refined tabletops and lush floral centerpieces.
