A cute cottage in Norway gets a micro makeover with one simple change (above) |
This is the living room of Norweigan blogger Marthe of Marzipan and Smiles. Marthe apparently is a city girl who moved with her family out to a cute country house in Noray. She features her home and family on her blog.
Was scrolling through Marthe’s pictures and I noticed that her living room got what I call a “micro makeover” – a small change in decor that has a big impact on the look of a room.
In this case, Marthe changed her sofa color…I think she might have done it with some sort of fitted covers on an Ikea Karlstad sofa (my guy TE is friends with the lady who started a super successful company called Bemz that allows people to take affordable Ikea furniture and transform their look with fitted covers).
What do you think of this very affordable living room sofa micro makeover?
BEFORE – DARK SOFA
Before – Marthe’s sofa was a dark gray brown with neutral accessories. (above) |
AFTER – WHITE SOFA
After – A lighter sofa and pastel pillows make Marthe’s living room lighter and brighter (above) |
Which look do you prefer? I think I like both!
Happy Thursday!

Nice-one for winter, one for summer. Just that little switch does make a huge difference here.
I really like the white, which scares me because I was planning to buy a new grey couch soon. Back to the drawing board!
