Stunning Stair Risers

May 22, 2017
  • Share

Happy Monday! I am obsessed with stair risers. For those of you who do not know what a stair riser is…then this post is for you. A stair riser is simply the vertical portion of each stair. I think of a stair riser simply as another design opportunity. It is a way to dress up your stairs. Tiles, paint, contrasting wood, or even decorative metals can make all of the difference for a set of stairs.

I have a COCOCOZY collection of painted wood floor tiles with Mirth Studios’ Mirthful Home. Mirth Studios also makes a great collection of stair riser decals that you can simply peel and stick onto already existing stairs! Love them. Click here to see their full collection of stair risers and read on to see my collection of stair riser decals and to see different options for your home too!

I love the idea of making stairs pretty too. Sally Bennett, founder of Mirth Studio, was so smart to come up with the idea of peel and stick wood floor decals and stair riser decals. This means if you are not ready for a full renovation but just want to dress up your floors, you can with decals! Brilliant!.

In this case, the stair risers are a dark stained wood that contrast with the lighter color stair treads. I like. (above)

Great post, Coco. We see a lot of similar “art on stairs” here in some of the old Spanish style homes – great designs and bold colors. Love the small area rug at the landing, beautiful contrast and texture to the whole stair area.
