A mural of a surfer on huge wave graces the wall of a modern dining room. (above)
Love this picture from photographer ngoc minh ngo. I believe this mural is a painting by Los Angeles artist Raymond Pettibon…known for drawings and paintings of big waves and surfers among other things.
What an awesome piece of art to have in a home. The dynamism of the lines…the brightness of the blues…a two dimensional piece with a feel of something that is three dimensional!
The glossy wood floors, the sleek dining table and chairs and the bright white walls…almost a private art gallery of sorts for this mural!
The cherry blossom sprigs in a white vase on the dining table are the perfect simple touch to this room!
What do you think about this room?

love your blog, found you through another blog and find myself visiting for inspiration daily. thank you.
what I love most about this is the LONG dining table. I am a big believer in home dinner parties and this would be an amazing space for a fabulous sit-down (is there really any other kind?) dinner party.
I quite like the affect of the mural on the wall – makes me feel like I need to grab a boogie board! 😉
I’m think though… this space seems more like a board room in an office then it does a dining room… perhaps like in a design or advertising firm. The mural on the wall would help to create a great energy during meetings.

woah! thats pretty darn cool! i love it.
happy april fools day.
🙂
Love the movement and energy the mural brings as well… but maybe not the most restful dining experience facing the wall and feeling like you will get swallowed up by the wave above your head ! I agree with Design Ties about it being more suited for a “board” room. Still cool though !
love!
I think it adds just the right amount of color to the room. It is also a great conversation starter for a dinner party.
Amazing mural – love it 🙂
Coco, love this!! Of course you know how I feel. Art is essential, dramatic, fabulous in any room.
