Hier Pour Demain, a Parisian favorite for vintage art deco furniture (above)
Still in London…loving it!
But now I must look back to my Paris trip (way back to yesterday!). On my first day in Paris, I went to my mother’s favorite furniture shop there. The shop is called Hier Pour Demain (translation: Yesterday for Tomorrow) and it is located on Rue des Francs-Bourgeois in the Marais.
If you are looking to see classic art deco furnishings from the 1930’s and 1940’s…this is the store to visit.
On display and for sale when I was there were several original gueridons (side tables), armoires, dressers and even a 1930’s style bar. All made of rosewood or mahogany and stained a very rich dark reddish brown color…and all sporting the lines and shapes that were classic of the art deco era.
Searching for a new sense of style that has its roots in years past? Take a look below and see if art deco might be what you are looking for!

While most of the home furnishings and accessories in Hier Pour Demain are original to the period, the store does also sell some very good art deco reproductions at affordable prices.

Hier Pour Demain does not have a website because the store’s owner says he is too busy keeping shop EVERY DAY of the week…but here is the store’s information in case you are ever in Paris or if you are looking for some fabulous French art deco pieces for your home.
