TILE FILE: GOING VERTICAL!

April 5, 2011
  • Share
Bathroom with light grey tiles arranged vertically on the walls

Brick like tiles laid on the vertical. Great idea. Here shown in a shades of light grey in a Los Angeles bathroom from Commune Design. The look so finely straddles the line of old school 70s retro while also being fresh and timeless. It fits for this space.

I am obsessed with tile by the way…wish I had more places to tile. I would move every year just so I could re-do a good kitchen or bath with some fabulous floor or wall tiles!

In your bath, what is your ideal look (what kind of tile and how is it laid)?

Running off…have a huge meeting today….have to present in front of all my bosses at work and huge client.   Instead of practicing what I’ll say, I’m debating between this cute new fuchsia Nanette LePore dress I just bought this weekend OR a classic black Prada (fyi…I had 4 voice mails yesterday when I left work…FedEx twice, my sister, and Effie from the Prada store here in Beverly Hills telling me they had new dresses in…Prada dresses are clearly my comfort zone…hmmm…thinking I might break out…but is today the day to do it?).  It is a big meeting…wonder what you would do…go bold or go safe?  Will let you know what I decide later today!

Happy Tuesday!

P.S.  Finally a little help is on the way…I have a new intern KS starting today…!  I need the help.  Yippeee.  Welcome aboard KS!

What a fabulous look! And the simplicity of it is genius. Wonder if hubby will knock out all the tile we just did in the bathroom 2 yrs ago and start over. Right. Absolutely love this.

I love the vertical movement and it doesn’t appear too busy due to the soft colors! Great idea!

Looks too insitutional for me. Think I’d get bored with it quickly

Love tile on the vertical. One of my favorite Asian restaurants here in NC has these small 2″x3″ green glass subway tiles laid on the vertical and looks like bamboo. So fabulous.

OooOooh love this Coco! Modern, clean, and simple with a touch of old school eccentricity in subtle hues! Beautiful…I can imagine this in any transitional interior…Although the finish in the reflection is soooooo intriguing…Wish we had a larger image to dissect!

    Thanks for sharing!

Behind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOBehind-the-scenes: Fun work trip to visit the COCOCOZY bedding collection at the Welspun showroom in New York. Met with some buyers, had a fun time with the Welspun team, then capped off the weekend with a visit with friends. It is a long process to get bedding in stores across the country...showing the collections at textiles market is one of the first steps!
If you're interested in learning how I have gotten @cococozy products into stores around the country over the years including in major retailers...follow along...just one entrepreneur's journey. :)

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.

Happy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this freshHappy New Year! 🎉✨ As we step into this fresh chapter, I’m reminded of the beauty of starting anew and I like recommitting to goals at the top of the year. Nothing set in stone but just an overall vision of what I'd like to do and who I would hope to help along the way.
This year, my mantra is: **dream big, act boldly, treasure the small joys, continue to lead with kindness and to have as much empathy as possible for others **. Just a few things...😂
I’m also deeply committed to helping people who follow along to achieve their dreams. I'll be curating captivating interior design inspiration with COCOCOZY that will hopefully give you ideas and dreams for your own space. I will also be empowering you to realize the value of your influence with Chirpyest by earning cash back for sharing and shopping. I hope to be open about the journey of the COCOCOZY product line. I want to share real time behind the scenes how the line is being built and how we are growing Chirpyest; both examples of the not so linear journey of building businesses from the ground up. I hope these stories spark you to push your own boundaries and shake out of your comfort zones.
Lastly, in 2025, I’m committed to surrounding myself with people who have a positive vibe about them while striving to be that same light for others. Luckily, I have a great start on this with an amazing family and fantastic group of friends - a fantastic support network.
My wish for you in 2025: May this year bring you clarity, courage, and the confidence to pursue all that makes you happy.
What’s one thing you’re committing to in 2025? Let’s inspire each other in the comments! 💬❤️
Let's get to this...am ready 2025!
