TOP 15 MID-CALF BLACK BOOTS

November 22, 2019
  • Share

Finally, we got a bit of rain here in Southern California this week. It is a good thing it rained because mid calf black boots have been on my mind for weeks. My fall/winter wardrobe is in major need of an upgrade this season. The rain is the perfect excuse! Right? One of the biggest categories that needs help is the footwear department. I’m a huge fan of boots. I can never have enough + they look good pre-pall – spring. Anyways… I’ve been doing some research and found a ton of incredible Mid Calf Black Boots that I can’t wait to share with you.

First up are high heeled suede booties. The first pair of from a brand I love: Tamara Mellon. She just knows how to make quality shoes that last! This boot feels super luxe thanks to the suede exterior. The tassel and hint of gold add a touch of casual to this boot. This would look amazing with a dress or skirt. The second boot is a similar style but much simpler in design. This boot could really be worn with anything thanks to the slim calf. Tucked under jeans or with a dress these boots are ready. The third boot is a bit shorter than the other two but still too tall to be an ankle boot. This again could be worn with anything but I think they would look best with jeans or trousers. I love the touch of silver metal at the toe for a pop of edginess.

Up next is smooth leather boots. The first boots are a bit on the tall side. I can see these looking incredible with a dress or skirt so they can really be shown off. The fold-over part and tapered heel are great details that make this boot pop. The second style is a bit slimmer in silhouette. I love the non-traditional heel shape. These will look great with pants, trousers, or dresses/skirts alike. The last boot has a wider calf and a pointed toe. These boots mean business. I love the super chic look. These will look great with cropped jeans or midi dresses.

Now here are 3 great suede black boots with a more manageable heel height compared to the other suede styles from before. Each of these boots has a gorgeous slouch to them. The first pair has a great black stacked heel. The pull-on tabs add a hint of western while the suede keeps the boots luxe. The second pair is yet another style from Tamara Mellon. I’m in love with the heel shape and the fact that it’s covered. These boots are perfect for any occasion. The third boot is slightly more formal than the first boot thanks to the slim calf and block heel. These are a great staple boot that again, could be worn with anything.

Next up is stiletto heel boots. These are great for a more formal affair or the office. The first pair is from Tamara Mellon… They are simply stunning! They are styled best with a skirt or dress to really show off the full boot. The subtle slouch is a great touch. The second boot is a bit shorter with no slouch. These boots are perfect for day or night and will look great with pants or skirts. The last boot is decked out with details. The unusual heel and lace-up details make this boot stand out. This style would again look great with pants or skirts/dressed – but I would be more inclined to wear a skirt/dress to really show off the boot.

Last up for Mid Calf Black Boots is western inspired boots. Western boots are huge this season. The first style is super streamlined and a luxe approach to western. These will look amazing with both pants and dresses/skirts. I love subtle line detail on the sides. The second boot is a more traditional western style. The all-black keeps this boot chic and ready to be an addition to your closet. These would look great with slim jeans or dresses/skirts. The last boot hints at western with the shape + pull tabs. This boot is luxurious looking and ready to be worn with anything!

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
