I’m liking this trend…two toned sofas.
Take a white sofa and make the seat cushion (perhaps the back cushion too) just a tinge darker in a neutral tone. It is almost color blocking on sofas using the cushions!
I like this look.

What do you think of this trend of two toned sofas…do you like or dislike? Is this a trend you can see incorporating into your own home?
Happy Friday!

Me likey…..anything that stands to extend the life of a piece of furniture, seems a good idea to me….when one part wears out, no one can disagree with your choice of new covers….smiles
Brutal honesty: I hate this! (but I think you and your blog are fab :)!) It reminds me of when I had a white slipcover for my red sofa-I would wash the cushion covers more than the frame cover, so during a washing I would have red cushions on my white slipcovered frame. It made me crazy!
Yuk! I detest this trend! If I want more than one colour on my sofa, I’ll put some pillows or a throw on it.
Not sure about this one…it reminds me of college days we hid worn out cushions with tucked in fabric, sheets etc. It would take some getting used to for me…
hmmm interesting, not sure i can get into this trend yet. Think i prefer the different color in the piping instead 🙂

I’m surprised at myself but I actually like it! Especially in the right spot! Wouldn’t it be great in a beach house when you usually worry so much about an all white sofa! That would be a perfect place to try it out! Thanks for sharing it with us!
I like this trend alot. My favorite version I`ve seen of this is when a modern sofa in soft white linen is paired with creamy white or white leather seat cushions and slouchy leather back cushions. Super comfy, super chic and super great for the klutz in me that doesn`t have to worry about staining the material when I am eating dinner on the couch watching tv when I sb sitting at the table!

Not my favorite. Brings back memories of the nineties of those multi-fabric upholstered sofas. Kind of like a quilt. I can see where the tone on tone look might work though – same color scheme, just different texture. Maybe and linen mohair combo. For kids and dogs this might be a go for one of my projects.
Im loving these two toned sofas! I really like the visual interest that is accomplished by something so simple. thanks for sharing

I think it all depends on the decor of the room and colours you are working with. I think it certainly works in the photos you have featured, definitely something to consider.
I like it when it is done right. I think the 2 tones should be very subtle contrasts otherwise I think you can run into the look being way to tiring and busy especially with the addition of throw cushions. The ones you have shown are stunning!
