UGLY OR PRETTY? A CAPIZ SHELL CHANDELIER!

A floral capiz shell drum chandelier. (above)

I think this chandelier is pretty. Best of friend AM thinks this is ugly.

A capiz shell drum-shaped floral chandelier! Love it! LOVE IT!

When in NY a bit ago, shopping with friend AM…I saw this beauty. AM was off looking at some tables or something and I literally yelled, “AM come over here. AM! Come here! AM come see this GORGEOUS light fixture…it is SOOOOOO pretty.” AM walked over, glanced up and said “I hate it…it’s ugly.” and then she walked off. Hmmmmm….

AM has fabulous taste in decor…so I only feel validated if she likes everything that I like…this time that was not the case.

What do you think dear readers? This is the question I ask you in today’s UGLY OR PRETTY?…what do you think? (I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but I want the popular vote in this case!). Is this chandelier ugly or pretty? You decide.

If you hate it, please say it…I can take the truth. I can take the truth. I can take the truth. I really can take the truth. I can. (I am repeating that statement so that it becomes true…).

Hope you have a great Saturday!

xo

Coco, it’s not for me , however in the right setting could work beautifully.

Not on the fence, so I would say no.

    Coco,

You are definitely right about this light. Imagine a peaceful, evening dinner with this on and dimmed. I bet it casts a very pleasant, warm light. Then even AM would have to admit she was mistaken. You know, we are lucky to have a vision of what something can be. Not everyone does, but it can sort of be learned!!!

I usually look at things in terms of “my style” or not. And I can’t say that the flower theme in decor is my style…, even though I love the shells.

Design is a billion dollar a year industry due in part to the inspirational whims of its subject audience. IE not everyone likes the same things. Thank goodness!

On a personal note I like the light. If you do to then let it shine. 🙂

We could debate about a degree of prettiness but it’s surely not ugly in any way. But it does take awhile to realize that it’s floral…

This is a case of a person whose vision is simply different from your own. The chandelier is in a word amazing.Just because AM doesn’t see it that way doesn’t make it ugly. It’s your choice and it is a good one.

Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celeb Today is my birthday but...I don’t want to celebrate...I want to help.
I want to make a meaningful impact in our greater Los Angeles community suffering from the fires. I invite you to join me in transforming birthday wishes into support for one local organization on the ground in Pasadena/Altadena.
I have made a contribution today already to the LA Fire Relief Fund created by @victorybiblechurch in Pasadena. They are actively assisting families in need in both Pasadena and Altadena who have been affected by the devastating Eaton Fire.
Although I don't have a personal connection to Pastor DeCuir or the church, I was searching for an organization that is helping in the Altadena area. A well respected civil rights attorney I follow @leemerrittesq is on the ground helping the church members and community members with legal services in the wake of the fires. I hope by contributing to their efforts, we can extend a helping hand to those facing significant challenges during this difficult time
To donate, please visit their website at https://vbcpasadena.org/ (link in bio as well). Every contribution, no matter the size, brings hope and relief to those who need it most. Tell them you heard about them from me.
Your generosity to the Los Angeles community is the best birthday gift I could ask for.
