Dream Pool For Swimming in the Summer

April 2, 2011
  • Share
Backyard with a large pool, grassy lawn, lounge chairs, and a wall made of plants

I want to be here.  I do. This is my dream pool. Wouldn’t this be a great place to spend a weekend day? Pool for swimming and gazing, green lawn for walking barefoot, hedges for privacy and a lush backdrop, umbrellas for shade and lounger chairs for lounging. Oh, I would need butler service too to make it complete… 🙂

Today is my beauty day…facial, hair, nails and anything else I might do to pretty up a bit. One must take time to maintain! Right?

Where is your ideal weekend spot? What are your weekend plans? Any decorating in the mix?

Happy Saturday!

xo

my ideal weekend spot is anywhere with friends and family! But ideally, in a warm place that look a lot like your picture! I live in NYC though, so it takes a little escaping. your blog is so inspirational! New Follower!

    Very lush and serene!
I could spend a whole weekend lounging there… who cares about hair and nails if you can hang here… 🙂

So glad you found and shared this! That’s the Hampton’s garden of designer Laura Day (of Laura Day Living), and one of our favorite photographers, Nancy Nolan, took the pic. Beautiful house too.

I need to be lying beside this pool! Really and truly I do. Since that’s not happening in my world any time soon, I think I’m going to go take a nap and dream about lying beside this pool.

    Stylishly yours,
    Kalyn

Reminds me a lot of the Viceroy Santa Monica. One of the best Sunday Brunches in LA…& the best when your a guest and can relax by the pool after wards with the LA Times.

Less is more. I love simple, rectangular pools surrounded by glass. This is the pool I would build at my own home.

Summer sale season is here, and we are not holding back. 👏
This is the time of year to finally grab those pieces you’ve been eyeing all season. The good news? Major markdowns are happening right now across some of the best brands.
Our tip: Shop with intention. Know your palette, know your fit, and choose pieces that work with what you already own, not just because they’re on sale.
We’ve already done the hard work and created a Summer Sale Shopping Board filled with our favorite finds. A Shopping Board is like your own storefront. It’s a curated collection of products you can shop yourself or share with others to earn when they purchase through your links.
✨ Want to make it yours?
Comment SALE and we’ll send you the link. Then just tap “Add This Board” to save it to your Chirpyest account.
Or grab the link here 👉 https://www.chirpyest.com/s/cocoedit/summer-sale-2026/2071?mode=share
From there, you can shop the collection, share it with your audience, earn from your recommendations, and get cashback on your own purchases. 💛

A 90s home in Amman, Jordan, entirely remodelled by local artisans. Neo-Florentine bones, Levant-eclectic sensibility, arched passageways, and a flea-market-meets-commissioned-art collection that makes every wall feel intentional.
What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

Panic mode activated!
If you only have 10 minutes, focus on these three things:
1. Make the bed. It instantly makes the whole room look cleaner.
2. Fold or straighten the throw blanket and pillows.
3. Clear visible clutter from nightstands and the floor.
That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.
Save this for the next time you need a fast bedroom reset. 🔖

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
What do you do when you log off? Comment and let's give each other some ideas!😀
