Japanese rice paper prints (above)
Happy Sunday! Two weekend photos again!
Have been thinking a lot about textile patterns and prints lately. Design mode has kicked in. Have been noticing quite a few beautiful patterns on paper too. Two different shops…two different selections of paper.
I saw these Japanese rice paper prints shown above at a store in Soho (was told by the shop’s purveyor that each rice paper sheet tells a part of a love story). The picture below is simply wrapping paper from a local paper shop I like.
Anyhoooo…loving the study of prints and patterns lately…hmmmm….more to come on that I hope.
Hope you have a happy rest of the day this Sunday!

Oh My…LOVE the Japanese rice paper prints!
Not usually a fan of Asian design but those papers are beautiful!
I decoupaged my pumpkins this year for Halloween. Now I want to decoupage everything. All of these papers are beautiful but I especially love the rice papers. Thanks for the inspiration.
Sometimes I go into paper stores to get inspiration on design and color combinations for my own artwork. It is so inspiring!
