Monday musings…life in a castle…
Castle Modanella (or Castello di Modanella) was built in the 12th century and has been added to ever since. The property spans over 1,500 acres and between all of the farmhouses, apartments and the castle itself…the interior square footage is around 107,000 square feet. This castle in the heart of Tuscany just outside of Sienna also is replete with vineyards and produces wines. Currently the spaces are rented out for weddings and for guest travelers. While some of the interior spaces were re-imagined in the 18th century and moving forward, the castle apparently has stayed true to its medieval origin.
Would make for a nice family home right…? Just a little old castle in Tuscany. Hmmm…thinking. Just need $35 million dollars and a VERY large family and I am good to go!
This home is listed by Sotheby’s International Realty. Click here for even more photos!
I guess before it is sold…you could go visit there and take a little vacation. I found the Castello di Modenalla website and the Modenella Facebook page (see some of the events and weddings that have been held there).
Might have to convince TE to take me to this castle so I can survey the grounds to figure out whether castle life is for me!!
Happy Monday!

P.S. Malibu Morning – Every weekend, my guy TE and I go out to Malibu…to look around and check on things so to speak. This weekend, since TE is away (now in Taipei for business), I went by myself…to look around…early early Saturday morning after it rained here Los Angeles. I took Mr. Boo (my dog) to this favorite spot in Malibu and took a few photos there. Here’s a snap of Mr. Boo enjoying the view of Point Dume. It was so pretty looking out over the Pacific Ocean…so clear after the rain. Check out COCOCOZY Instagram for more from my weekend. Make sure to follow me on Instagram @cococozy
