11 Bright White Kitchens

June 9, 2023
  • Share

Exactly six years ago today, I curated a blog about bright white kitchens. And the kitchen design is still wildly popular. Anyone who knows me knows my deep love for bright white kitchens…I mean it is a love at first sight kind of relationship I have with these kitchens…they are just so fabulous. Clean lines, smooth surfaces, open spaces…all of that sounds perfectly lovely doesn’t it…am I convincing anyone that you should join the bright white kitchen bandwagon? If you’re still on the fence then maybe my updated white kitchen round-up will persuade you!

About The White Kitchen

The image above is AM’s Manhattan kitchen that she remodeled last year. Her apartment has a ton of natural light, which is why she wanted a bright and airy color palette.

Another view of AM’s kitchen.

From the Blog Archive June 9, 2016

Best of friend AM + her hubby JE has a fabulous all-white kitchen in their East Hampton home.  It is a nice size open kitchen with a large long island with Carrara marble counters, stainless appliances, white glass front upper cabinets, a custom white lattice over the kitchen windows, and red Saltillo tile floors for a bit of contrast. Love the kitchen in AM’s weekend house.  I love it so much I am going back for a visit in a few weeks!  Woot Woot!

The best part is that you can add color in particular places…whether it be gold light fixtures like the kitchen shown below or it can be in the barstools or an area rug like the Kitchen below from designer Jessica Today.

I love when marble countertops or just the right wooden barstools can be incorporated into the design of kitchen space, they add extra elegance …okay well now I’m off to figure out how I can add one if not all of these looks to my current kitchen space.

The first step is finding the right white paint color.

The Best White Paint Colors

Who knew picking out white paint can be so difficult? Do you want warm undertones? A hint of blue? Maybe, you want something crisp! There are so many choices. Here are the top white paint colors according to Benjamine Moore.

Super White OC-152

A bright paint with lightly cool undertones conveys clarity and simplicity. I used this color on the exterior of the COCOCOZY Design House.

Simply White OC-117

With just a bit of warmth, this clean, crisp white is a choice for usage throughout the home.

Chantilly Lace OC-65

A timeless white that evokes memories of fresh cotton and pure silk.

Swiss Coffee OC-45

Beautiful white paint with just the right amount of warmth.

The Benefits of A Bright White Kitchen

Bright & Airy

The main reason AM wanted another white kitchen is that it brightens up the space. Experts use white paint to hide imperfections like dents in a wall or drywall blemishes. If you’re afraid to commit to a fully white room, then add details like white crown molding and other craftsman accents.

Larger Appearance

If your kitchen feels small then bright white wall paint will improve the appearance of your kitchen. It gives the illusion of an open space by bouncing natural light. It’s a budget-friendly hack for improving your kitchen design.

Timeless Color

Despite some designers arguing that “stark white is out,” the color white can never go out of style. It’s timeless and complements all types of home design styles: traditional, modern, contemporary, bohemian, industrial, and beyond.

I love when marble countertops or just the right wooden barstools can be incorporated into the design of kitchen space, they add extra elegance …okay well now I’m off to figure out how I can add one if not all of these looks to my current kitchen space…

Which of these bright white kitchens do you like best?  I am partial to my bff’s!

A 90s home in Amman, Jordan, entirely remodelled by local artisans. Neo-Florentine bones, Levant-eclectic sensibility, arched passageways, and a flea-market-meets-commissioned-art collection that makes every wall feel intentional.
What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
Save this, it’s a masterclass in culturally rooted design.

Panic mode activated!
If you only have 10 minutes, focus on these three things:
1. Make the bed. It instantly makes the whole room look cleaner.
2. Fold or straighten the throw blanket and pillows.
3. Clear visible clutter from nightstands and the floor.
That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤

Life when I’m offline. 🎣 On this trip to Park CitLife when I’m offline. 🎣
On this trip to Park City, UT, I was way off line with a little fly fishing. No emails. No DMs. No feed. Just a rod, a beautiful river, and however long it takes to catch something.
Running two brands means my brain rarely stops so when it does, it really does.
No fish were harmed. All fish were returned into the river.
What do you do when you log off? Comment and let's give each other some ideas!😀
