$17 Million Montecito Mansion with Open Concept Living

May 1, 2023
  • Share

I found this beautiful listing on Instagram. It’s a must-see to start this Monday morning with some inspiration. Today’s post gives an inside look into a Montecito mansion. The property is located at 1045 Cold Spring Road. The mansion was renovated by Marc Appleton, William Heffner, and Alex Clyne. This estate has 5 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, and 1 half bathroom on a 0.76-acre property and has a total gross area of roughly 5,958 square feet. The front exterior is what caught my attention. I knew I needed to see more!

Why is Montecito So Expensive?

Montecito is expensive because of its location. It’s only a five to ten-minute drive from Santa Barbara. The location is unique due to hovering over the fog line featuring stunning California views. It also is near the Upper Village shops and restaurants, and the Montecito Union School, one of California’s top-ranked public elementary schools.

Moneticito might be known for its luxurious estates. However, the lifestyle is very laid-back and grounded. Most people spend time outdoors enjoying the warm California weather year-round.

What is The Average Home Price in Montecito?

According to Redfin, the median price for the Montecito housing market is about $5.5 million.

About The Luxury Home

The extensively renovated Montecito property is massive in size with a warm and cozy design. The mansion was renovated by Marc Appleton, William Heffner, and Alex Clyne. The designers prioritized clean lines, rich woods, and handpicked details. The open-concept interiors flawlessly mix sophistication and ease to create the perfect sanctuary.

My favorite detail is the steel doors and windows. lt allows an ample amount of natural light to flood the home. The steel doors in the living room lead to custom stone terraces with silvery olives in the foreground and stunning ocean views on the horizon. Those ocean views are one of the main reasons why people move to Montecito.

Open-Layout Kitchen

The luxury kitchen design is full of natural materials. It has custom wood cabinetry with luxury appliances. There is an extensive amount of storage to hide smaller appliances.  The family room is an extension of the kitchen and the terrace. Making it easy access to indoor/outdoor living.

Built-In Wine Storage

One of the coolest features of this home is the lounge has a built-in wine refrigerator. Who doesn’t love that? The lounge is the perfect spot to hangout with friends and family and enjoy your expensive wine collection.

California Primary Suite

The home has 5 bedrooms, but the primary suite is so dreamy. Perfectly fits a California king bed with a cozy fireplace. the primary bedroom has its own terrace with ocean-views.

The Ensuite Bathroom

The primary suite is a showstopper, but the ensuite bathroom is almost just as good. It features marble and warm wood, providing a spa-like bathroom right at home. The calacatta marble countertop is also seen in the shower for a cohesive look.

Celebrities Who Live In Montecito

Montecito has become a hotspot for the rich and famous because of its hillside estates and breathtaking ocean views. A-listers that live in the Santa Barbara area include Oprah Winfrey, Ariana Grande, Ellen DeGeneres, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Rob Lowe, Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom, and so many more.

This opulent Montecito mansion brilliantly blends old and modern designs. Riskin Partners Estate Group has listed it for $16,900,000, making it one of the most desired estates in Montecito. Unfortunately, I don’t have $17 million to buy this magnificent house. But if any of my readers do…please invite me over for cocktails!

Happy Monday!

Xo,

Coco

It started with an invitation. I met @hugobesnier_ It started with an invitation. I met @hugobesnier_ , founder and designer of luxury furniture brand @hartisparis_ at a small gathering in the 7ème, near the Musée d’Orsay. I was there with my new friends, Scarlette and Sarah.
The apartment itself was incredible! Tall ceilings, terrazzo floors, right along the Seine, but what really stood out was the furniture.
Turns out, it was Hugo's exquisite work.
The pieces are designed around everyday gestures: sitting, leaning, resting, but interpreted in a way that feels elevated and intentional. There’s a balance of structure and softness, where architectural lines meet more organic textures and forms.
He invited me back the next day to see everything more clearly, outside of the party setting, and it completely changed how I experienced it. The pieces feel intentional and refined, with a strong focus on material and form.
Sharing a closer look at his work here.
