4 HOMES OVER $100 MILLION DOLLARS

A gallery hall in a $125 million dollar home in Santa Barbara, CA – read post to see more! (above)

After receiving an email from a real estate brokerage the other day about super high end homes, I went house hunting.  This time my property search was for home in the $100 million dollars and over range.  Yes. Private homes do exist that are well over $100 million dollars!  I am in shock and disbelief…very intrigued, partially confused and most certainly priced out of this marketplace.

Well a house hunting I went none-the-less…via the internet.  Price was no object when I went on this hunt – clearly.

Here’s a look at 4 homes that are currently on the real estate market in the United States…all priced at $100 million dollars or more!  Pick your favorite…

BEVERLY HILLS – $195 MILLION DOLLARS
Exterior of Beverly Hills mansion

Just a stone’s throw from my house in the Hollywood Hills but clearly worlds away in price, this Beverly Hills, California home features 12 bedrooms, 23 bathrooms and 53,000 square feet.

I think this is currently the most expensive home on market in the entire United States.  This is just one private home that costs $195 million dollars…I just got dizzy!

Listed by agent Joyce Rey of Coldwell Banker Previews, Built by developer Mohamed Hadid, with architecture by Bob Ray Offenhauser and design by Alberto Pinto, this property sits in the heart of one of the most well known city’s of the world on a whopping 25 acre plot of land.

The home is Mediterranean villa named Palazzo di Amore.  The home boasts luxurious living quarters, pools, gardens and more.  There is 3,000 bottle wine cellar and its own vineyard that produces up to 500 cases of wine a year.

HILLSBORO BEACH, FL – $139 MILLION DOLLARS
Backyard pool and sitting area

$139 million dollars.  Wow.

Listed by agent William Pierce of Coldwell Banker, this Florida mansion has 11 bedrooms, 17 baths in over 60,000 square feet.  The home is named Le Palais Royal and the website deems it a “Beaux Arts masterpiece”.  The main staircase alone cost $2 million dollars to build.  There are 22K gold leaf finishes in the house, a putting green, a 4500 square foot infinity pool and a 30 car garage.

This feels more like a small town than a home…

NEW YORK CITY – $118 MILLION DOLLARS
Master bedroom in apartment in the Ritz Carlton

Located at the Ritz Carlton, this two story 12 bedroom, 15 bath apartment is not your normal city pied-a-terre. What do you call an apartment that is a mansion? Making up a word – an amansement?

Anyhoo….listed by NestSeekers agents Ryan Serhant (the guy from Bravo’s Million Dollar Listing t.v. show) and Kaptan Unugur, this “amansement” is around 15,500 square feet with another 2200 square feet of outdoor space.  What?   This stunning penthouse boasts amazing views of the city, lots of entertaining spaces and three kitchens…

I like…

SANTA BARBARA – $125 MILLION DOLLARS
Santa Barbara mansion

12 bedrooms, 10 baths in 29,500 square feet, this estate sits on 237 acres in the Santa Barbara area (Montecito to be exact).  Rancho San Carlos listed by agents Suzanne Perkins and Harry Kolb at Sotheby’s is on the market for the first time in 100 years as the land was owned by one family for that period.  It boasts horse stables and a full equestrian facility, tennis courts, ocean views, approximately 100 acres of cultivated orchards including lemon, orange, lime and avocado trees. The home was designed in 1929 by famed architect Reginald Johnson for a prominent developer and rancher and his wife. The current owners are the descendants of the original owner and according to articles are selling because the family is so spread out there is no one to take care of the grand estate.

Oh did I mention the 10 guest cottages on the property too?

This is what $125 million dollars looks like…

My personal favorites are the NYC apartment and the home in Santa Barbara. Love the fact that the Santa Barbara home has its own orchards.  Would love that.  If in some alternate universe you had this kind money to spend…which of these would you select?

Happy Tuesday!

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
