6 ELEMENTS FOR DESIGNING A SOOTHING MODERN BEDROOM

March 28, 2014
  • Share

A cool gray modern master bedroom.  I like waking up in a clean simply decorated bedroom.  This one fits the bill.  Here’s how to get this peaceful bedroom look!

1. A SOOTHING GRAY WALLS WITH WHITE MOLDING & TRIM

2. SIMPLE PLATFORM BED – A velvet monochromatic headboard in taupe sets the stage for this soothing setting.

3. MODERN SETTEE – SITTING AREA WITH CLEAN LINES NO FRILLS – Sitting area here features a light gray daybed settee with a midcentury modern vibe.

4. CLASSIC ART AND ARCHITECTURE TO CONTRAST MODERN DECOR – Great carved fireplace and classic oil painting work here.

5. STATEMENT LIGHTING

6. MONOCHROMATIC OR WHITE ROMAN SHADES FOR WINDOW COVERINGS

If you want to create your own soothing modern room, go to COCOCOZY Pinterest to shop this post.

Soothing is right. Loving the dreamy, ethereal quality of this room.

I think this room has great bones……..but it looks like a hotel room. There are no personal items or hint of character/soul of the person who sleeps here. Soothing, yes. Love the tonal qualities, but would add to very quickly. Thanks for making me ponder.

Love the color palette. I am a big fan of gray, it is soothing and very sophisticated.

It is warmer here now, but these were the looks I It is warmer here now, but these were the looks I reached for in Paris when the days were still cold. ❄️
I remember building each outfit around a coat or a scarf, with comfortable shoes that could take me anywhere, knowing I would be out for hours just walking.
Nothing overthought, just pieces that felt right for the pace of the day.
What would be your OOTD for a cold day in Paris?
If you want to shop these looks, comment SHOP and I will send you the link.

It started with an invitation. I met @hugobesnier_ It started with an invitation. I met @hugobesnier_ , founder and designer of luxury furniture brand @hartisparis_ at a small gathering in the 7ème, near the Musée d’Orsay. I was there with my new friends, Scarlette and Sarah.
The apartment itself was incredible! Tall ceilings, terrazzo floors, right along the Seine, but what really stood out was the furniture.
Turns out, it was Hugo's exquisite work.
The pieces are designed around everyday gestures: sitting, leaning, resting, but interpreted in a way that feels elevated and intentional. There’s a balance of structure and softness, where architectural lines meet more organic textures and forms.
He invited me back the next day to see everything more clearly, outside of the party setting, and it completely changed how I experienced it. The pieces feel intentional and refined, with a strong focus on material and form.
Sharing a closer look at his work here.
My Paris dream life keeps happening again and again!
