A COZY ITALIAN VILLA ON A HILLSIDE!

Yellow Italian villa in Liguria with an amazing view

I never got a proper vacation this summer so I am dying to get away. Any place sounds good. Anywhere. That’s probably why this Italian villa in the Liguria region looked so appealing to me. It is not for rent but I imagine myself spending a relaxing week in nice little historic home like this! The eclectic design is full of character…quite comfy…and definitely cozy. And the views…oh the views…

Blue kitchen in an Italian villa with hexagon tile floor, long wood table surrounded by white chairs, blue and white tile backsplash and a bronze chanedlier

I’m loving the exterior color of this house…yellow with black shutters and white trim. Wonderful!

Where would you take a fall vacation if you could?

Going to a party at Brooks Brothers in Beverly Hills this evening…friend Social Primer invited a bunch of us to the launch of that new book True Prep (by the same lady who wrote the Preppy Handbook). Need to figure out what I will wear. Hmmmm….need something that I can wear to work today but then looks cute in the evening…arghhhhhh…there I go…I’m stressing myself out…need to go get ready for work! Yikes. Oh boy.

Anyhooo…hope you have a fab Thursday!

P.S. Check out today’s Reader Submission on the COCOCOZY FACEBOOK PAGE. See how a little blue box from Tiffany & Co. inspired reader and friend JLF to do a dresser makeover! Also, make sure to please leave a comment! I think the “after” of the dresser is absolutely fantastic! A must see!

I adore the color and feel of the comfy reading room, and I can just imagine that kitchen bustling with activity — steam, aromas of delicious food, people around the table engaged in animated conversation.

I am reminded of plantation houses in the Caribbean, which of course were inspired by the homes those people came from long ago in places like Italy and Spain. You see the butter-yellow thick tabby walls accented with black shutters all over the place in St Croix, keeping the interiors cool and inviting. Let’s go!

I love how these grand homes maintain a shabby-chic feel….you never see kitchens like that in the US. They get gutted and “upgraded” every 5 years.

I agree… You hardly find anything like these nowadays. It looks soooo cozy and inviting. Reminds me of grannies and afternoon apple pie moments or vanilla scents!

Before you start moving furniture, ask yourself thBefore you start moving furniture, ask yourself these three questions:
Does this improve the room’s function?
Does it create a better focal point?
Does it make the space easier to walk through?
If the answer is “no” to all three, maybe it’s just the rearranging itch talking. 😅
Save this for the next time you’re tempted to move every piece of furniture in your house.

This is the time of year to finally grab those pieces you’ve been eyeing all season. The good news? Major markdowns are happening right now across some of the best brands.
Our tip: Shop with intention. Know your palette, know your fit, and choose pieces that work with what you already own, not just because they’re on sale.
We’ve already done the hard work and created a Summer Sale Shopping Board filled with our favorite finds. A Shopping Board is like your own storefront. It’s a curated collection of products you can shop yourself or share with others to earn when they purchase through your links.

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
Save this the next time someone talks you out of going dark. 🖤
