I remember my first studio apartment – well it was my only studio apartment. I lived in Washington, D.C. and I was going to graduate school there. I found this tiny little 1 room apartment in a very nice building right near Dupont Circle. I loved it. I had everything I needed. A living room area with city lights views, a bed nook that fit a queen size bed, a separate eat in kitchen, and a large walk in closet that you had to pass through to get to the bath. The apartment had floor to ceiling windows and hardwood floors. Perfection.
Because of those memories, I get so excited when I see a well appointed small apartment. I found this one on Homepolish and it belongs to a P.R. executive named Dria Murphy who lives in the West Village of New York City. Very girly, feminine and pretty. I like the fresh white used throughout…makes the small space feel airy and bright. Very well appointed!
This little studio is just so cute!
P.S. TE came home on Friday! I picked him up from the airport. Was so happy to see him. He was gone 2 weeks. It was the longest we had been apart in the two years we’ve been together. He went to London, Paris and then to Taipei for work (shooting commercials and things like that). He literally went around the world on his 13 day trip…he left L.A. and headed east and kept heading east until he made it back to L.A.. I, on the other hand, during the same time period, only went from the Hollywood Hills to Beverly Hills and back about 12 times with a spin over to Cheviot Hills to do some trick or treating on Halloween with friends SN and BN and the group they pulled together. TE went around the world…and I trekked over the same 8 miles going back and forth from my house to work. Hmmm…
P.P.S. Anyhoooo… This weekend TE and I spent the day in Malibu on Saturday at our favorite spot making plans and picking fruit, massages Saturday afternoon (the masseuse said that my very tense neck is throwing everything in my body off), drinks at the Soho House Saturday evening (we like a drink there called the Eastern Standard and we have them make it spicy), then pizza at home Saturday night. Sunday we woke up and fashioned a make shift breakfast by cutting into an amazing pomegranate we picked on Saturday in Malibu, then he dropped me off at the COCOCOZY office so I could work while he went off to watch football, and then he picked me up and we had dinner. A very nice weekend spent with my guy. Now the week begins…let the games begin!
