APARTMENT DECORATING – 1000 SQUARE FEET IN SWEDEN!

March 22, 2013
  • Share
A white bedroom with a mix of old and new. (above)

This cute one bedroom apartment is located in Linnéstaden, Sweden. It was recently on the market but was snapped up understandably. Bright, cheerful and light is how I would describe the interior design. White walls, white floors, lots of natural sun light. The decor fits the setting. Not too important, very easy, both modern and classic at the same time. I like!

Love the printed fabric wall hanging that acts as a headboard of sorts over the bed. (above)
Smart use of space with cute storage boxes on top of a white armoire wardrobe. (above)
Lots of pillows on a gray sofa and framed posters make for easy living room decor – and don’t forget an Eames chair classic! (above)
White wood floors throughout the apartment and in the dining room help add to the cheerful feel. (above)
A stainless steel backsplash in the small modern kitchen.(above)

What do you think of this little flat?  Do you think it needs a little more decorating or is it just right?

Happy Friday!

P.S. Was sitting at the office the other day at my real job – minding my own business – and these lovelies arrived. From the very nice TE. He is very thoughtful and sweet. Once they came, every girl I work with ran into my office…they were all cooing, oooohing and aaahhing. We then staged a mini photo shoot with the flowers where all of the girls were texting and putting them on Instagram. Got so caught up in “flowerpalooza”, I forgot to text TE a thank you right away! Flowers…they do the trick every time.

Lovely flowers and my silver pig at my office. (above)

P.P.S.  Allegedly, I am doing a 5K tomorrow.  Okay…strike the allegedly.  I am doing a 5K tomorrow?  Okay strike the question mark.  I am doing a 5K tomorrow!

P.P.P.S.  Have a great weekend!

Hi Coco! I received my lovely Cococozy pillow yesterday…I love it!! Thank you very much! (Posted it on Instagram)

I love this apt just how it is. So clean calm and warm! I wouldn’t change anything. And after the size of homes I’m looking at during my search here in LA and the HH, this apt is huge! Haha!

Beautiful flowers! TE is a keeper.

    Have a great weekend!

Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive.Summer is when this courtyard really comes alive. 🌸
One thing I’ve learned is that every outdoor space needs a focal point. It gives your eye a place to land and makes the whole space feel more intentional.
In this courtyard, the bougainvillea naturally becomes that focal point, adding color, height, and movement without overwhelming the space.
If you’re designing your own patio or garden, start with one standout feature, then let everything else support it.
Save this tip for your next outdoor project. ✨

Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surr Design by @covetnoir. A 1750 Georgian home in Surrey, restored back to its former grandeur.
Grade II listed and stripped of most of its original character by previous owners, this 9,000 sqft home with seven bedrooms, and five bathrooms was brought back to life for a French-Swedish couple raising two young kids here. The brief: Parisian luxe with a Scandinavian twist, and a design calm enough to keep the grand proportions feeling intimate.
Covet Noir rebuilt what had been lost: full plasterwork, raised & fielded panels, a bespoke decorative ceiling, and added a cantilevered limestone staircase with Nero Marquina cabochon inlay in the entrance hall. The material palette leans into marble and alabaster, softened with boucle and brushed cottons, chosen to hold up to two kids and two dogs without losing the elegance. Antique furniture and architectural fittings were sourced throughout to keep the project sustainable, alongside ground source heating.
Grand bones, calm hand. This is the kind of restoration we could look at all day. 🤍

Before you start moving furniture, ask yourself thBefore you start moving furniture, ask yourself these three questions:
Does this improve the room’s function?
Does it create a better focal point?
Does it make the space easier to walk through?
If the answer is “no” to all three, maybe it’s just the rearranging itch talking. 😅

A 90s home in Amman, Jordan, entirely remodelled by local artisans. Neo-Florentine bones, Levant-eclectic sensibility, arched passageways, and a flea-market-meets-commissioned-art collection that makes every wall feel intentional.
What makes it work: restraint where you’d expect excess, and boldness where you’d expect safety.
This is what happens when a home is built by people who actually know the place. 🖤
