A cute grey bathroom inside a Hancock Park home in Los Angeles. (above)
I very much fancy this recently remodeled tiny maid’s bathroom from the home of the talented Tom Newman of Newman & Wolen Design architectual firm in Los Angeles. Love Tom’s work in general and adore what he did to this small bath on the first floor of his grand home.
This little bath is inviting, cool and charming! The remodel introduced marble mosaic floors, a stand alone traditional tub, wainscoting and vintage light fixtures into the room. These elements came together to create a chic bath with a fresh combination of stylish time-honored classic design ideas.
Hope this inspires!

The floor is tiled in a hexagon Cararra marble mosaic with lots of grey veins and a medium grey grout color – all picking up and complimenting the grey paint on the walls and paneling. (above)

A pleasant and simple white wood vanity cabinet with recessed panel double doors, white marble countertop and an undermount sink provide great storage and fabulous form.
Thank you Tom and Ricky for allowing me to take photos in your home!
I prefer the prior sink. The new one seems to jut out into the space too far.
The floor tiles and chandelier are lovely. Did the maid stay on with the new design? 🙂
Beautiful bathroom and a MASSIVE improvement!! I’ll never understand why people put carpet in bathrooms. It’s just plain icky!!
The chandelier is really pretty and unique, and I like the grey wainscoting around the room.

great remodel. i want to live in that bathroom, but i would have gone with a pedestal sink and bigger mirror.
I really really love the new tile choice. So amazing! Thanks for the inspiring post, Coco!
HUGE improvement 🙂 Love, love, love the new tub & flooring.
I LOVE it! I’m thinking of doing my bathroom gray- any chance you would tell me the name of the paint color on the wainscoating?
I absolutely love this bath remodel. I looked at some tiles today similar to these for my upcoming remodel. Thanks for the ideas.
Where did the vanity come from?
Very impressive, thanx for sharing!
I love everything about this room – can you share the wainscotting paint color and where you got the vanity and mirror?
Any idea where they found Carrara tile with such beautiful dark veins? Everything I’ve seen looks much more washed out. Fantastic makeover. 🙂
i ran accross your bath while searching for small bathroom spaces, I love what you have done, it’s perfect!
Where did you get that tile? I can’t find anything with veining that dark or prolific, it’s absolutely beautiful!
