I spotted this really cool house while perusing the interweb this weekend as I procrastinated on getting everything together for the holidays! It is a beach barn house on Martha’s Vineyard by Hutker Architects and Liz Stiving-Nichols of Martha’s Vineyard Interior Design.
I love a great barn house. One of my faves is a real Canadian barn that was moved to Connecticut and converted into a house!
This beach style barn house is located on the tony island of Martha’s Vineyard just off the coast of Massachusetts. It is new construction but it is quite nice too. The design show piece in this modern house is clearly the living room with it’s magnificent vaulted ceiling and the two story high stone fireplace. The exposed beams and wood ceiling make the expansive open floor plan space feel cozy and warm.
Plenty of light and wonderful water views. I like the glowing hues. It is a summer beach house but I think it would be a perfect place to host family for the Thanksgiving holiday or to set up a super large Christmas tree in the winter! Right?
