Best Loafers

January 13, 2020
  • Share

There is nothing better than finding the best loafers. I just splurged and bought these embroidered Gucci loafers. I needed something with a heel that was comfortable casual yet chic. I love the fun bee pattern that adds some whimsey while still being sophisticated. The perfect loafer is out there for you! Here is a round-up of some of the best loafers on the market right now.

First up is the pair of Gucci loafers I just splurged on. They are a gorgeous shade of white with gold embroidered bees. I love the small heel and comfy/chic nature of them. Next up is a classic Gucci style – the slide version of their traditional loafer style. There are everywhere – and for a reason. They are perfect to slip in for any occasion. The third option is the same style as the first but in a smooth burgundy shade. I love this color for the fall!

Loafer story – My friend RBD, a high powered and fashionable television executive, always has the BEST shoes. Every time I see her, I comment on some cute heel or shoe she has pulled out of her treasure trove. The other day, on Halloween, she and her husband invited a group of us over as they do every year.  RBD had an adorable pair of sparkling silver slide on loafers on, with a sparkling silver jacket and a headband with spiders on it. Don’t know what her costume was supposed to be but somehow she just looked chic and the SHOES. I asked her where she got them…she looked at me and said, “uh Gucci”. Well, the rest of the night I was mesmerized. I knew I need my own pair of Gucci loafer like shoes.

So off I went. I found these embroidered leather in cream and I had to take them. When I texted RBD with a picture of said loafers the following week, for her to approve of my purchase (as I was getting cold feet and felt maybe I should take them back), she said: “I have those!”. That next evening we met up at a jewelry trunk show at Voiage (a fab jewelry store in Los Angeles) and low and behold we both had these shoes on so we snapped this photo. Poor RBD…I am so inspired by her style…that I bought shoes like hers…and then that night I bought the exact same ring that she had from Voiage. I will understand if at some point she gets scared and thinks I am like that movie Single White Female (except I am not white). Don’t worry RBD…I won’t go that far…but you do have GREAT style.

Continuing with the heeled loafer theme here are a handful of great options. The first loafer is a gorgeous warm brown color. These are perfect for when you are trying to walk the line between casual and dressy. They are the perfect shoe to dress up your office look. The second loafer is a bit vintage looking and comes in a fantastic dark green color. I love this option if you are looking to make a statement. The third loafer is perfect for someone trying to spice up their wardrobe with some animal print. There are a great way to add some fun to an outfit.

I love this first loafer. The black and snakeskin combo is such a great option for those who want a pop of color but want to maintain a classic look. The print transforms these loafers into a statement. The second loafer is a full snake print and is a gorgeous neutral pattern. This is great for someone looking to add some pattern to their style. The third option is super classic – but they keep it fun and modern with the thick gold chain detail. This is a great option to pair with jeans or trousers.

I love these gorgeous black loafer by Chloe. They are sleek and sophisticated and are perfect for dressing up every outfit. The gold emblem is a nice pop of shine. Second, up is the last Gucci loafer of this roundup. The flat version of the white and gold print from before. The traditional loafer shape makes these a bit more casual. Next up is a fun gloss croc print from Tory Burch. These are the perfect color for fall and will look great with any outfit.

The fist loafer is a super minimal style in a white croc print. These are super sleek and would complement most outfits. I love the idea of wearing this in an all-white look or balancing out a colorful/black look with these. Next up is a super minimal black loafer with a wood bottom. These are a great staple to have if you love minimalist items. They will never go out of style since they are so classic. The last loafers have a super fun heel. These are still neutral but with a twist. Perfect for adding a bit of style and surprise to your look.

First up is an affordable option from Sam Edelman. These are a classic style with a nice pop of gold. Perfect for work or play these loafers can take you from day to night. The second loafer is a beautiful taupe suede from Tory Burch. The suede makes this style a bit more elevated. This is the perfect color to add to your wardrobe if you don’t have it already. It flatters a ton of outfits. The last of the three is a super fun style. The red color is perfect for fall/winter. The chunky gold chain and studs add pops of shine.

These are a super simple blush pink heeled loafer. They are so chic and perfect for adding a touch of sophistication to your outfit. Jeans, trousers, or a dress/skirt would look great with these. Second, is a traditional loafer in a croc print. The slight shine to these looks great and makes them more fun. These would look great with straight jeans or wide-leg trousers. The last loafer is super furry and perfect for colder climates. What a great way to stay warm and add some cozy to your look.

The first loafer is another pair of heeled loafers from before this time in a blue/black color. These are just a great staple shoe if you are looking for a loafer with a heel. The second pair is a fun style by Tory Burch. The mix between velvet and snakeskin is a fun surprise that works surprisingly well with the gold chain detail. These would pair best with a simpler outfit to add some fun. The last loafer is a traditional style in a black croc print. These are super basic and minimalist. The croc pattern sets them apart from traditional smooth leather.

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!
