Introducing The COCOCOZY Design House!

June 6, 2018
  • Share

Major life update alert!

If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you already know that I’ve started my first big COCOCOZY design house project! And now that I’ve got my footing, I want to bring you all along on the journey with me in hopes we can learn a thing or two together!

Basically, I bought this house as an investment property a few months ago in an historic area here in Los Angeles called View Park. The Spanish Style home is 1860 square feet and was built in 1931. It sits on a large, magical lot surrounded by palm trees and birds of paradise. It was 3 bedrooms and 3 baths — but now we are morphing it into a 4 bedroom and 3.5 bath home!

Hotel Fit for A Royal Bride – The Cliveden House

May 31, 2018
  • Share

If you know me, you know I was admittedly OBSESSED with the Royal Wedding!

I am still on a detox after days of being glued to the TV, live streams, and social media soaking up every detail I could about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. I can’t be the only one who cared that much, right?? Help me please.

One thing I can’t stop thinking about from the magical weekend is the Cliveden House, the exclusive hotel property just outside of Windsor where Meghan and her mother, Doria Ragland, stayed the night before the nuptials.

As you can imagine, the dreamy seventeenth century estate located in the quaint Berkshire countryside is incredibly historic and sits on about 400 acres of land. Surrounded by trees and gardens, the venue also offers stunning views of the River Thames. Inside there are ornate chandeliers, gold-plated furniture, heavy-canopied beds, oil paintings, and velvet couches. The definition of glamour!

Trend Alert: The Macramé Movement Is Back!

May 23, 2018
  • Share

The macramé trend has found a second wind!

The bohemian textile art form of knotting and hitching is best known for its popularity in the ‘60s and ‘70s — and now (thanks to Instagram and Pinterest, probably), it’s back and better than ever!

From plant hangers, wall hangings, curtains, chairs, pillows… I’ve been seeing macramé more than ever!

Check out some of my favorite room inspiration and shoppable items (below)!

11 Two-Toned Clawfoot Tubs

May 15, 2018
  • Share

We’ve talked about dreamy freestanding tubs before, but now I want to chat about two-toned clawfoot tubs!

I just bought a vintage clawfoot tub for my latest design project — and like most of my finds, it’s in great shape but needs just a bit of refurbishing.

Full disclosure, I never in my life thought I would want a clawfoot tub… it seemed a little too quaint for me. Never say never, I guess, because now I’m obsessed with the idea of having a two-toned clawfoot bathtub — black and white in particular.

Below I’ve rounded up some of my favorite photos of the trend for inspiration!

Gorgeous Ways To Incorporate Spring Gray

April 5, 2018

Spring days call for Spring Gray!

I keep spotting rooms, architecture, and home accessories with gray accents — and I just love how the typically-drab color is being used to make other colors (including white!) pop.

Incorporating gray can keep your space sleek, neutral, and of course, oh-so cozy!

Easy Home Storage That Isn’t An Eyesore

March 27, 2018
  • Share

Time for a little spring organizing!

As a fan of cozy spaces, I’m often searching for ways to find extra room for storage in every area of the house. What I’m finding is that it’s possible to find homes for all your unsightly belongings with furniture or bins that you’ll want to show off.

My first tip would be to get rid of anything you do not need or use regularly. There is no reason to hang on to anything that isn’t adding value to your life. Haven’t worn that sweater in a year? Two years?? Donate it. Once you’ve narrowed it down and are only looking to store what you absolutely need, find chic ways to incorporate it into your decor!

Take a look (and shop!) some of my favorite finds for easy home storage that are pleasing to the eye (below)!

This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a French interior designer and architect, Nathan Litera @nathanlitera is a beautiful reminder that good design isn’t about replacing the past, but learning how to live with it. You see it in the preserved millwork, the original fireplaces, the parquet floors, and then in the quiet contrast of contemporary lighting, cleaner silhouettes, and restrained color.
The magic is in the balance. The newer pieces don’t compete with the architecture. They feel intentional, calm, and completely at ease. Nothing is overly styled. Nothing distracts. History stays front and center while the space still feels entirely livable today.
Here’s how to bring that same feeling into your own home:
* Keep your base timeless — neutral walls, classic materials, architectural details if you have them
* Let contrast do the work — modern lighting or furniture against traditional bones instantly updates a space
* Edit your palette — keep colors within a tight range and let texture and form do the talking
* Invest in materials — marble, wood, plaster. They age beautifully and never feel out of place
It’s not about recreating a château. It’s about understanding the feeling that quiet kind of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Save this for when you want your space to feel layered, timeless, and truly considered. ✨

Sharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. ESharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. Every day for the last few months has been the greatest day ever here. Even days that are not event filled feel special in Paris.
Started with French class on this day. I was taking classes at L'Alliance Français because living here means actually trying to belong here and speak the language.
Then off to the Hôtel de Crillon @rosewoodhoteldecrillon ,a historic palace hotel overlooking Place de la Concorde, known for its timeless interiors and quiet kind of luxury, catching up with a friend like it was the most ordinary thing...in extraordinary place.
So even though nothing momentous happened...wanted to show you what my every greatest day life looks like in Paris.
This city keeps surprising me. 🖤

A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not A soft touch of pink, layered into the space. Not overpowering, just enough to warm everything up, walls, upholstery, even the smallest details.
It shifts the mood completely. Calmer, softer, and a little more lived in.
Save this if you’re leaning toward softer, warmer spaces. 🌸

What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so What makes the Saint-Martin Apartment in Paris so hard to look away from is the deliberate clash Sophie Dries @sophiedries_ created and didn’t try to resolve.
The bones of the apartment are pure Haussmann: ornate cornicing, carved boiserie, a marble fireplace with a gilded mirror. Everything a 19th-century Parisian apartment should be. Then she placed a near-black dining table with brass-legged stools into the middle of it. A raw concrete-look bathroom behind the grandeur. Dark, sculptural objects on surfaces that were built for delicate things.
It works because she didn’t try to blend the two, she let them sit in contrast. The apartment feels lived-in and specific because of it.
→ Save this if you’re mixing old architecture with contemporary furniture.

From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the pap From classic to modern, rustic to minimal, the paper lantern just fits. It softens the room, diffuses the light, and rounds out even the sharpest architectural edges without demanding any attention. 🏮
Are you into paper lanterns, or do you prefer a more structured statement light? 🧐
