French Farmhouse: The Le Mas des Poiriers

April 23, 2021
  • Share

While scrolling through Instagram, I came across this gorgeous French farmhouse located in Provence, France. This 18th century structure is so inspirational. Who wouldn’t want to travel here for a summer vacation? I miss traveling and exploring new places.

The buildings were renovated by Alexandre Lafourcade. And the landscaping was designed by Dominique Lafourcade. The main house is 13,000 square feet with seven bedrooms. The buildings were restored to feature both traditional Provence style and modern luxury. I’m in love with the architecture and thought I should share it with all of you.

The Art of The Collected Wall

March 24, 2021
  • Share

There is nothing quite like the art of the collected wall. A term I came up with, a collected wall combines traditional gallery walls or bookcase walls and houses them both under the same name. Now, this topic is something I’m incredibly passionate about and I can’t wait to share a collection of some of my favorites. Then, we will explore spring/summer suiting inspiration that is perfect for any of these spaces.

Since we are all spending a lot more time cooking at home, we could also use a bit of fresh kitchen interior inspiration. I know my kitchen could use a few new accessories to really make it pop. I can’t wait to share these great interiors with you.

My Small Home Office Makeover

December 11, 2020
  • Share

Today I bring you a small room makeover! Running my own company from home, I need a place to write, strategize, plan and manage every aspect of the business. Command central of sorts! The challenge was finding some place to put an office. I have already decorated almost every inch of my current home! Well after much hemming and hawing, I thought I would try to put the office in this little corner. The space is only 44 inches. I used a desk with a marble top as the centerpiece. This space makeover proves you do not need a lot of square footage to create a functional and good looking space!  A friend of mine said this makeover might inspire a few parents too who are looking for places to set up their kids for the next few months for home school!

My favorite items are the acrylic office wall system – I will make lots of use of the dry erase boards.  I love the functionality and the look. I spend a good part of my days happily working from this pretty little spot at home!

11 Ways to Style Roman Shades in Your Home

November 2, 2020

Style Your Home with Roman Shades

The Shade Store’s Roman shades are the perfect window treatment to turn your room from dull to chic! For those who do not know, Roman Shades are made by one piece of fabric that will fold up as they’re raised. The reason I love these shades is because they’re functional and stylish. Also, they come in all different fabrics, textures, and colors. You can create a bold look with fun patterns or compliment your minimalist style with a neutral solid linen fabric. They’re perfect for making your room feel elegant. It’s time to update your living rooms, kitchens, and bedrooms.

As you know, window treatments can be overwhelming! Especially, since there is a wide variety of styles to choose from: vertical or horizontal blinds, curtains, panels, and more. The wrong choice will make a room look outdated or too loud. Using the perfect window treatment will take your room from “oh” to “WOW.”

Specifically, these types of shades are normally seen in more traditional homes. However, now they’re starting to be seen in more modern style designs. They’re great for creating clean and modern looks. Also, you can also choose a graphic pattern to add some character to your living room. Roman Shades are amazing to play around with to find your own style.

Heidi Caillier Design took this historic San Francisco home and layered floral wallpaper, striped drapery, checked linens, and antique textiles room after room without a single one feeling overdone. Marble mantels, gilt mirrors, brass fixtures, and warm wood floors do the quiet work of holding it all together.
This is what happens when “more” is chosen on purpose.

Happy Labor Day! 🇺🇸 Here’s a little throwback toHappy Labor Day! 🇺🇸
Here’s a little throwback to a Labor Day dinner party I hosted a few years ago, and honestly, we’d still do it this way. 🥂✨
Hosting this Labor Day? Keep it simple:
• Set the table with one statement detail + neutral basics
• Choose a menu you can prep ahead so you’re not cooking all night
• Add candles or flowers to make the table feel special
• Serve everything family-style for a more relaxed feel
• Don’t overthink it. The best dinners are the ones where everyone lingers a little longer 🤍
