interiors Checkerboard floors are trending in interior design again. But did they ever go out of style? Designers are incorporating the classic pattern into kitchens, bathrooms, foyers, and mud rooms. There are so many ways to add a pattern to your home. The classic pattern takes the basic room from boring to beautiful. Checkered floors elevate a space by adding dimension. Different tones and color combinations will have different impacts. Muted tiles will create a soft and charming design. While bold colors will add playfulness and whimsical textures. See some of the COCOCOZY team’s favorite rooms that have checkerboard floors below.

interiors Today’s interior inspiration is a modern Stockholm apartment. It features blue hues and elegant designs. The apartment was designed by Studio Lawahl. The founders, David Walgren and Joanna Laven created an apartment that mixes modern concepts with antique decor. The apartment design was influenced by both Swedish and broadly European styles. Their goal was to blend elegant designs into a functional and livable space.
The kitchen is the standout room in the apartment. It’s a combination of luxurious materials. The original kitchen was closed off and very small. The design firm decided to expand the layout to make it a more sociable place to hang out in the apartment.
interiors I’m Jordyn, Colette’s social media manager for both COCOCOZY and Chirpyest. Today, I’m taking over the COCOCOZY blog. One thing to know about me is that I’m always researching trends in home, fashion, and lifestyle industries. When I see something I love on social media, I always feel the need to research more about that item. Why is it trending? Who started the trend? Is the trend worth it?
I was inspired by this minimalist and sustainable breakfast nook. Minimalist interiors are more popular than ever. Designers are removing clutter, utilizing monochromatic color palettes, and exposing natural woods. In 2022, less is more when it comes to interior design. Learn how to get the minimalist style in your home.

interiors Our lives can be stressful, but that doesn’t mean our homes have to be too. Take a look inside this Los Angeles home that is full of earthy interiors. The home features muted tones, natural materials, and rich textures. Interior designer, M. Elle Design, created a relaxed sanctuary for her clients. If you look closely, you’ll notice that most of the walls are bare. She wanted her client’s art pieces to be the stars of each room. It gives the home a gallery-like feel to it. Tour a few of the COCOCOZY team’s favorite rooms.
The room above is a beautiful sunroom. It’s a combination of neutral and warm tones that will help brighten your mornings. The design team added a playful twist by adding a rose gold Oscar Pendant from RW Guild.
interiors Step inside this dreamy primary bathroom in Los Angeles, California. It’s a Parisian-inspired sanctuary that complements the Hollywood Regency-style home. DISC Interiors took on this project to give the space a much-needed facelift. It’s located in the historic neighborhood of Hancock Park. The 100-year-old neighborhood was the home of old Hollywood icons including Nat King Cole, Ava Gardner, and Clarke Cable. People gravitate toward this neighborhood due to the historic architecture and to relive 1920s Los Angeles.
The star of the bathroom is the shower. It has rounded edges for a sleek and modern design. DISC wanted the bathroom to mirror Paris Hotels. The marble detail gives the bathroom a glamourous finish that is suited for a dreamy primary bathroom in Los Angeles.
interiors The ideal lakeside home is full of natural light, ample space for entertaining, and original charm. This Dallas home has all of that and more. Interior designer, Chad Dorsey, renovated this 6,500-square-foot lakeside paradise for his clients. The stand-out room is the galley kitchen which features wall-to-ceiling windows that flood the room.
The original kitchen was small and not very functional for Dorsey’s clients. Dorsey removed the walls and other enclosed spaces to expand the kitchen into a lavish hangout spot that flows right into the breakfast area. The goal of the renovation was to integrate modern design without minimizing the original charm of the lakeside home.
interiors Since it’s almost summer, I figured it was a good idea to share some summery interior inspiration. Dive into this beautiful primary bedroom. It’s designed by Los Angeles designer, Justina Blakeney. She is known for her vibrant artwork and color palettes. Justina is also the founder of the home décor brand, Jungalow®. Take a look at her beautiful blue limewashed primary bedroom that looks like an ocean dream. It features vintage decor and Mediterranean details.
interiors Today’s interior inspiration is all about the perfect summer home. I discovered it last week while waiting at the airport. You all know I love doors. It’s one of my weaknesses in architectural design. And this door is blue! So I had to take a look inside this home. I’m happy I did!
The Florida residence was designed by Jake Arnold. He helped design this home for a Palm Beach hotel developer. The exterior features stucco-clad and a stepped roof. The owner wanted it to mimic Bermudian architecture. I would never want to leave this gorgeous pad. See more rooms below.
