Celebrity Homes – Liv Tyler

October 21, 2019
  • Share

One thing I love posting about is celebrity home tours. When I ran across a tour of Liv Tyler’s West Village Townhouse I knew I had to cover it! A look inside Liv Tyler’s whimsical and beautifully designed townhouse! This stunning townhouse was entirely redone and was a historical renovation. They did an amazing job at adding custom molding, woods floors, pocket doors and more! This house tour is so good that it inspired two other post ideas that are now on my list!

GORGEOUS LIVING SPACES

share

This living room is just so whimsical and playful! The furniture colors make it feel like a cotton candy dream – except the luxurious version of the that. The chandelier and rug also add a major dash of whimsy! The room is full of visual interest yet looks cohesive and personalized.

Here is a gorgeous image of Liv Tyler next to the pocket doors that divide the two living spaces. The architecture of the pocket doors creates beautiful archways between the rooms.

Before we hit an image of her second living room space here is a gorgeous image of the entryway to the townhouse. The foyer is simply designed with a mirror, table, and flowers. In this instance, simplicity shines. We also can’t forget how incredible that molding is!

This living room is everything! It’s the darker, older, and more serious version of the first living room area. The contrast between the velvet couch and the fur chair is incredible! I also love the huge windows and floor to ceiling curtains.

A FAMILY ORIENTED NYC KITCHEN

share

The kitchen is equally as excited as the rest of the rooms in the home. A decent size, this kitchen is the perfect space to hang out with family and prep meals. The kitchen spans two walls with a cozy dining room table in the middle.

The dark cabinets are balanced well by the white cabinets, white wall, and glass front cabinets. The mirror behind the stove adds a lot of light back into the space. The flowers also add just the perfect touch of color.

THE COZY LIVING ROOM

share

There is yet another sitting area/living room in this stunning townhouse. This is the main living space that Liv Tyler and her family hang out in to watch tv and movies. The red sofa is a bold choice but, it looks great in the white space with the dark-colored accessories.

A WHIMSICAL STUDY AND CHILDRENS BEDROOM

share

This is such a quaint yet stylish working/study area. The hanging bookshelf is great solution for extra storage and it also acts as decor. The white throw on the chair as a beautiful dash of style to the room.

share

This is one of Liv Tyler’s children’s rooms! Look at how stunning it is. I love the choice of wallpaper and the decision to keep the rest of the decor pretty minimal. It has the perfect touch of whimsey and feminity.

BRIGHT AND WHITE BATHROOM

share

In the tour, Liv Tyler jokes that her children’s bathroom is her favorite room of the house. It’s beautifully done in white + marble plus, has a stunning view out of the window. Very luxurious and grown-up – the addition of the narwhal shower curtain adds a dash of playfulness.

NURSERY

share

This is simply one of the prettiest and most serene nurseries I’ve ever seen. The soft blue and teal are a beautiful color palette that keeps this room calm and peaceful. I love the tall thin bookshelf and rocking chair.

If the nursey could get any cuter – it does. This second part of the room hidden behind a pocket door is so amazing. I love the light + playful wallpaper in addition, to the white crib and fur rug.

MASTER SUITE

share

The master suite is beautifully designed. The gold headboard has to be 100% custom made with that beautiful jacquard fabric. The hints of teal and pink add the perfect touch of fun to this luxurious and relaxing room.

Talk about dream walk-in closet! This closet has everything you could need and it does it with maximum style. I love the light see-through white curtains, the fur rug, and the silver wallpaper.

This bathroom is divine! It has the perfect amount of old vs. new. The vintage vanity and clawfoot tub are balanced by the pink light fixture and the photo gallery wall. This space looks so peaceful and calming!

Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles an Keep it simple. No need for bells and whistles and fancy things to make your house a home. In this picture, a plant, two chairs I found at the flea market, a layered rug situation and some modern art...de-cluttered space can be equally as inviting as one filled with memories and treasures. If you are stuck with how to decorate, I say keep it simple. Purge and start with the basics. Full disclosure, this is a shot of my living room from a few years ago when I first moved in...I didn’t even have drapes up when this was taken. I have since added pieces and changed out furniture and added a 2nd sofa...but it started super simple and it was lovely back then. When the world is swirling around us and making no sense, how are you keeping things simple at home? #socococozy #bringstylehome #cococozy
Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last Pre-pandemic throw back photo to where I was last year. Clueless as to what was to come. Was in Paris, with my mom, enjoying her summer apartment in the middle of the 6th arrondissement. I had just left the U.K. visiting friends for a few days in London and the Cotswolds. None of us knew that this summer 2020 would be so different. Today, I can only hope this time of tumult and great divides leads somehow to a future of calm and harmony. Going backwards in time is not an option. Pushing forward is. Happy Sunday to you. Where were you last summer? Where do you imagine you’ll be next? Xoxo #socococozy #bringstylehome
Incredible living room before and after as designe Incredible living room before and after as designed by my good friend Steve Jones @bettershelter! I went on a tour today. I also went on a tour a year ago when he first got the house. See my stories. Swipe to see what this room looked like before. Life lesson from a room transformation: When faced with the daunting and not so pretty, look to do the work, and you can make changes to bring out what is good. Right? This home by the way is going on the market soon and is in one of my favorite parts of town, View Park. What changes have you made lately that have turned bad into good? #socococozy #bringstylehome #remodeling #homerenovation #californiadreaming
“Be patient with yourself it has been a funky fe “Be patient with yourself it has been a funky few months in the world.” My friend Manon texted this advice to me today. She is right. A little patience and a lot of kindness to yourself and to others during these unusual times will go a long way.

Am in my living room right now looking at these pretty flowers in that white urn I found lying around. The urn works (see Flower Power highlights for backstory). Thinking on who I might send one of these bouquets to today as a little act of kindness. Still working on the patience piece of her advice! 🤪 Who might you send flowers to? How can you be more patient with yourself? Happy Saturday!

I wanted to design a super lush classically beautiful bouquet that would look good in any home during the fall/winter. Roses, eucalyptus and so much more in soft whites and greens.
