CHEAP TO CHIC: A MENSCH OF A BENCH!

June 10, 2009

Wood open lattice work bench from Modern Dose
Modern Dose – Tammy Bench – $1195 (above)

Is this the same bench? Same look, same form, same color, same graphic open lattice work design. Two pieces of furniture (seating in this case) that look EXACTLY alike; the only thing that differs is the price. Hmmm….I wonder.

If my house was bigger, I would use as a loveseat in a hallway or in a bedroom. My house is not big enough…so maybe someone will find room in theirs.

Sweet bench! Look up the definition of a “mensch” …usually applies to a person…but I think it could apply to this bench too!

Modern Dose frequently has lower pricing than some of its competitors as they do not carry inventory nor do they have a showroom so their overhead is far less than actual retail shops, hence she does not always do a full 100% (keystone) mark up which is traditional in retail, with the exception of the pieces they manufacture of course. Nonetheless, Enjoy, it is a great bench!!

They look exactly the same. It’s a great nice bench, but I would go for the cheaper price tag!

I always check several places before I buy — it does mean saving money — it looks the same — does it weigh the same?

Defintely the same bench — but I like the first one better, seeing as it’s cheaper!! 😉

I think it would look great on a balcony or patio, as well as inside the house (assuming it can hold up to the elements).

Has anybody here bought anything from Modern dose? I bought an item for about $400 for over 6 months ago and I haven’t recieved it. They don’t return calls or emails, so I guess I just have lost my money 🙁 Anybody with the same experience?
