CHEAP TO CHIC: EXPOSED LEGS – TOP 10 SOFAS BARING IT ALL!

October 5, 2010

Grey sofa with European hardwood, wool, feathers, walnut-stained beech turned feet from The Future Perfect
The Future Perfect – Oscar Sofa – $5550 (European hardwood, wool, feathers, walnut-stained beech turned feet)(above)

Exposed legs are always the rage in fashion and in home decor!

I know. I know. It is Paris Fashion Week right now and all of the buzz is about Spring 2011. I can’t think about Spring right now. No bare legs for me. It rained yesterday and it is Fall. I can only think about ways to keep covered up and warm (I am cold-weather-phobic…temperatures have barely dipped into the 60s here in the Hollywood Hills and I am FREEEEEEEZING…if you could see what I have on this morning (before work I must emphasize)…I look like a hooded clown with huge furry socks, a Juicy Couture velour hoodie and a night gown working at my computer…comical indeed…not that I need to say it but I know this look I am sporting is NOT fashionable at all but I am cold…anyhoooooooo…back to good looking things….)

So my version of baring legs comes in the form of sofas with exposed legs and chic leggings with a great overcoat or jacket.

So in today’s CHEAP TO CHIC – legs are exposed on the runway and in the home…

Cream sofa from Bolier & Company with high arms, slightly curved back and exposed wood legs
Bolier & Company – Roseneau Sofa – $5400 (Price with COM (customer’s own fabric). Wood legs, high arms, slightly curved back) (above)

I love the future perfect sofa and the Burberry olive jacket and leggings. Hmmm…fall fashion and decor for thought!

Any of these sofas stand out to you? What about the clothing…anything with legs there (puns intended)?

Happy Tuesday!

Adore the Roseneau. In general I love exposed-legs sofas. But please, won’t someone feed those girls some pie!

My mother has a very old sofa from when she was first married (in the 70’s or early 80’s) and we recently fixed it up by pulling the ruffle off the bottom of it. The legs are very simple, but make such a huge transformation to the piece. It was great fun. Love this collection.

A thoughtfully styled tablescape can:

• Encourage people to linger a little longer.
• Turn an ordinary meal into a memorable experience.

The best part? It doesn’t have to be elaborate. A few layers, fresh flowers, candlelight, or beautiful dinnerware can completely change the atmosphere. 💐

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
