CHEAP TO CHIC: WHITE LIGHT – GLOWING GLASS TABLE LAMPS!

April 2, 2012

modern living room with white sofa, dueling armchairs, a zebra print upholstered ottoman with dark wood legs and a white gourd lamp
A white gourd lamp glows in the corner of a modern living room. (above)

I like a white table lamp and I especially love the glow of a white glass table lamp base.

White glass lamps are luminous and light yet opaque enough to feel substantive.  A staple item that can transcend decor styles and trends.  Contrast nicely against colored walls and blends seamlessly in white rooms.  Something to consider if thinking about adding a little light to your home.

Here’s today’s CHEAP TO CHIC!

Harriet lamp with white milk base
Jayson Home & Garden – Harriet Lamp – $195 (White milk glass lamp base) (above)
Fluted white glass lamp with acrylic clear base and white silk lamp shade
Zinc Door – Arteriors Paulette Table Lamp – $478 (Fluted white glass lamp with acrylic clear base and white silk lamp shade)(above)
Barbara Barry design lamp with white glass with silver hardware
Circa Lighting – Moon Glow Table Lamp – $525 (Barbara Barry design.  White glass with silver hardware)(above)
White Murano glass table lamp with white shade by Thomas Pheasant
Baker – Facet Table Lamp –  $2992.50 (White Murano glass table lamp with white shade by Thomas Pheasant)(above)

Do you like the idea of a white glass lamp? Could you use it in your home? If not, what kind of lamps do you like…ceramic, porcelain, metal? What lights you up?

Happy Monday!

I LOVE glass lamps. Not crazy over the gourds, but definitely glass lamps. Channeling Jan Showers and what-not. And I loved this post, so awesome how you did this line up. My faves are the second and the last. Dont you thik everyone could probably use a pair?

I love double gourd lamps and would like to buy a black ceramic one for my living room and a white ceramic one for my bedroom. For me, the double gourd shape is perfect for tying together my antique, organic and modern decor choices.

I do like the idea of a white glass lamp base… but want to know where those star burst mirrors came from…

After reading your post… I think I’ll go for a classic porcelain lamp…

Gorgeous lamps! I recently purchased two lamps with the base and shade cast from a single piece of clear glass, but I love the idea of the white, too!

Old-world plasterwork meets contemporary furniture, and warm brown-stained wood quietly anchors every room. A conversation between heritage and modernity that never raises its voice. By @atelierdaaa 🤍

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
