White Arched Window Ledge

March 30, 2012
  • Share
arched window opening to a beautiful view with window ledge holding a glass of wine, a stack of books, pillows, a reading lamp and a potted plant

I would love to spend a few hours this weekend sitting on a window ledge like this.  A beautiful view, some lovely flowers, good reading and a glass of something (I’d switch out the red wine for a lovely cold glass of Perrier with some lemon in it).  This space says “relaxation” to me.  Wouldn’t it be nice? Gazing out of a tall arched window…enjoying just the right amount of sun…a soft breeze…in a cozy space…day dreaming…just day dreaming.  Perfection.

What are you doing this weekend?  Where would you want to be to get a little rest and relaxtion?  Home…traveling…outdoors?  What would be your ideal?
Happy Friday!

xo

P.S.  I hope you have a wonderful Friday!

    Travel definitely!
I’d switch out the wine too, probably for a tall icey glass of pink lemonade or some watermelon slices. I can’t wait for summer.
Hope you have a nice weekend Coco.

That window seat looks perfect, especially if it were in my home to enjoy everyday. At the moment I’m at a private home in Kauai overlooking the beautiful Mooala Bay. Aloha!

Did you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-ÉlyséeDid you know one Sunday a month, the Champs-Élysées closes to traffic entirely?
No cars. Just people, walking straight down the center with the Arc de Triomphe ahead. Then I walked home over The Seine. It had just rained, and the sky was doing something extraordinary. And of course, the Eiffel Tower showed up right on cue.
Paris on a quiet Sunday is something else. 🖤

This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millo This St Germain apartment, designed by Félix Millory @felixmillory , is defined by two things: a tightly controlled material palette and a sculptural art collection that runs through every room without exception.
Travertine frames every doorway. Dark smoked oak covers the joinery and cabinetry. Grey marble runs across the kitchen counters and island. Within that framework, figurative sculptures on the shelves, a large totemic piece at the entrance, stone forms on the dining table, a large-format artwork in the kitchen. Every room has at least one object that demands your attention. 🗿
→ Save this if you’re designing around a sculpture collection.
