CHECKING OUT A KITCHEN WITH A PICTURE PERFECT PLAID FLOOR!

June 1, 2010

Kitchen with stainless steel island cabinets, a pressed tin ceiling, cornflower blue dome pendant lights and checkered floor
Stainless steel kitchen island cabinets, a pressed tin ceiling, cornflower blue dome pendant lights all sit pretty on a checkered kitchen floor that looks like gingham fabric! (above)

Happy Tuesday!

Welcome back from the long weekend.

Thought you would love this amazing kitchen with its grey and white check tile floor. All I can say is awesome. The floor works in this space. Daring design in the flooring and high style touches in the rest of the kitchen all make this room a stand out!

What do you think?

This is amazingly subdued for Diamond Barrata, but I love it anyway.

I love this land. The design of the steel island is also very original, with plenty of drawers!
    Perfect!

Beautiful – I don’t know what is more amazing to me – the floor or that steel island?!

Everytime I see this kitchen i wish I had those pendant lights. They are the most fabulous blue.

I love this kitchen and I love the pattern on the floor. I think I would have loved this more had the floor been in a brighter color though.

This kitchen is amazingly unique. I’m curious about the floor. Is it a painted or stained floor or is it actually some kind of tile. Would love to know.

Before you start moving furniture, ask yourself thBefore you start moving furniture, ask yourself these three questions:
Does this improve the room’s function?
Does it create a better focal point?
Does it make the space easier to walk through?
If the answer is “no” to all three, maybe it’s just the rearranging itch talking. 😅
Save this for the next time you’re tempted to move every piece of furniture in your house.

Summer sale season is here, and we are not holding back. 👏
This is the time of year to finally grab those pieces you’ve been eyeing all season. The good news? Major markdowns are happening right now across some of the best brands.
Our tip: Shop with intention. Know your palette, know your fit, and choose pieces that work with what you already own, not just because they’re on sale.
We’ve already done the hard work and created a Summer Sale Shopping Board filled with our favorite finds. A Shopping Board is like your own storefront. It’s a curated collection of products you can shop yourself or share with others to earn when they purchase through your links.

That’s it. Those three steps make the biggest visual impact without deep cleaning.

Black is not a bold choice. It’s a neutral, and one of the most versatile ones in design.
The rooms that get it right treat black the same way others treat white or greige: as a foundation that lets everything else breathe. The texture of the wall. The warmth of the wood. The drama of the marble. Black doesn’t compete, it amplifies.
