COCOCOZY Makes Forbes Magazine Top Influencers List

May 9, 2017

Okay, for those of you who just read the blog and are not on my social media channels, I just realized I did not clue you in on some very big news!

Last month, I woke up one morning to find thousands of more followers on my Instagram and an email from FORBES MAGAZINE saying I had been named as one of 30 on the Forbes Top Influencers List for 2017 (I ranked #10 in the Home category) !!!!  WHAAAAAAAAT???  Every time I think about it, I pinch myself.  That morning, I started screaming and dancing and reading and screaming and dancing and reading and screaming and dancing and reading…it was unbelievable to me that after almost 8 years of blogging, my blog had been recognized by Forbes.  I could not believe it!  I still can’t.  Why me?

Here is a screen grab of the other 9 influencers in the home category who made the 2017 Forbes Top Influecer list too!  Was very happy to be named among this group!

It turns out Forbes used all kinds of methodology and research to identify its global Top Influencers list in three different categories (Beauty, Fitness and Home).  Every quarter this year, Forbes will focus on other influencer categories.  For now though, I am among the inaugural class of just 30 people worldwide who made the list.  As I type this, I still cannot believe it!

Let me just say, blogging is not easy so you have to love what you do.  You have to love what you are talking about, you have to love to story tell, you have to have dedication and consistency.  I happen   I’ve had so much support and encouragement from my family (my mom and sis DS) and best friends (AM, FF, A.Ro, AT, ALG, BN and SN and so many others) over the years.  I started this journey with just one blog post. Years ago.  No pictures. Just words. Just an idea.

I guess the moral to this story is…stick with your passion.  Do not give up.  I got a wonderful pat on the back from Forbes…but even if I wasn’t named on that list, I would still be here blogging…enjoying every minute of sharing my point of view on decor, design, fashion, entertaining and more with you.  It has been a journey.  Take your passion and make it part of your own journey…your life story…  Your passion doesn’t have to be something that could turn into a business…it might be a passion of spending time with friends, taking care of those in need, doing good in community, loving the people around you…  Regardless of what you do and love to do…I would give the same advice…stick with your passion!

That level of control is what makes the result so specific. Rich materials, sculptural forms, cinematic lighting but nothing feels decorative for its own sake. Every detail was considered as part of one complete vision, and you feel it in every room. ✨

Natural light is the one thing every room has in c Natural light is the one thing every room has in common here, but the window shape, wall material, and time of day make each one feel like an entirely different experience. ☀️
It’s a reminder that light isn’t just a condition in a room. It’s a design decision.

This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a This 300-year-old Belgian château redesigned by a French interior designer and architect, Nathan Litera @nathanlitera is a beautiful reminder that good design isn’t about replacing the past, but learning how to live with it. You see it in the preserved millwork, the original fireplaces, the parquet floors, and then in the quiet contrast of contemporary lighting, cleaner silhouettes, and restrained color.
The magic is in the balance. The newer pieces don’t compete with the architecture. They feel intentional, calm, and completely at ease. Nothing is overly styled. Nothing distracts. History stays front and center while the space still feels entirely livable today.
Here’s how to bring that same feeling into your own home:
* Keep your base timeless — neutral walls, classic materials, architectural details if you have them
* Let contrast do the work — modern lighting or furniture against traditional bones instantly updates a space
* Edit your palette — keep colors within a tight range and let texture and form do the talking
* Invest in materials — marble, wood, plaster. They age beautifully and never feel out of place
It’s not about recreating a château. It’s about understanding the feeling that quiet kind of luxury that doesn’t need to announce itself.
Save this for when you want your space to feel layered, timeless, and truly considered. ✨

Sharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. ESharing with you a day in my life here in Paris. Every day for the last few months has been the greatest day ever here. Even days that are not event filled feel special in Paris.
Started with French class on this day. I was taking classes at L'Alliance Français because living here means actually trying to belong here and speak the language.
Then off to the Hôtel de Crillon @rosewoodhoteldecrillon ,a historic palace hotel overlooking Place de la Concorde, known for its timeless interiors and quiet kind of luxury, catching up with a friend like it was the most ordinary thing...in extraordinary place.
So even though nothing momentous happened...wanted to show you what my every greatest day life looks like in Paris.
This city keeps surprising me. 🖤
