COLOR WATCH: ANOTHER CORNFLOWER BLUE KITCHEN!

July 10, 2012

blue kitchen with herringbone wood floors

Another cornflower blue kitchen for you!

Years ago, I did a very short post on a cornflower blue kitchen that many of you seem to have enjoyed.  I enjoyed it too…the color of the kitchen cabinets spoke for themselves.

Well here is another cornflower blue kitchen.  I think I may love this one more than I loved the last.  Notice the gorgeous almost unfinished herringbone wood floors (sigh)…that pushes this kitchen into top tier range for me.

I like the soft almost purple soft blue.  It is very soothing.

So did you take a look at the old post on the other cornflower blue kitchen too…? Do you like one better than the other…?  This one or the old one?

Also, one last question and then I’ll stop with the questions…would you be daring enough to paint your whole kitchen this shade of blue?  Why or why not? (oops 2 questions)

Happy Tuesday!

The floors make this kitchen as cool as it is. Love the floors with the color.

Such a pretty color! I don’t think I would paint my kitchen this color, just because I would want to go for a more classic look in a space that costs so much money to revamp; but I would love to paint a wall this color!

LOVE this kitchen. Like it more than the other because of the floors and total color saturation. What are the countertops?

The kitchen is made of oak and a wood sort called “Poppel”… don’t actually know what Poppel is called in English, sorry, but try to do a search.

This one! The other is too blue and traditional. Is this a sweepstakes where I can win this kitchen?? 😉

A quick history lesson for this Monday morning. Th A quick history lesson for this Monday morning. This Spanish-style home located in Malibu is actually a museum. I visited the Adamson House a few years ago. The beachfront house was built in 1929 and sits on six acres. The home was designed by Stiles Clement for Rhonda Ridge and her husband Merritt Adamson. The Adamsons used the property as their beach house until 1936 when they started living there year-round. Rhoda's father, Frederick Hastings Ridge, was the last owner of Malibu making the Adamson House a historical landmark. No photos were allowed inside.

I used to live in a cottage in Los Angeles. So whe I used to live in a cottage in Los Angeles. So whenever I come across a cottage rennovation I get excited. I discovered this charming English cottage on @houseandgarden. The home is dated back to the 16th century. The new owner wanted to add her personal style inspired by Scandinavian interior design and her time spent in Portugal. So many beautiful details in every room. Which room is your favorite?
