COLOR WATCH: BACK IN BLACK & WHITE FOR FALL!

Model wearing a black dress from The Row
The Row – Fall 2010 Collection

Once again…another post inspired by a conversation with my good friend and fashionista Amie Robinson.

After Amie had inadvertently turned me onto Lauren Moffat in idle conversation and that netted a fab post on plaid and piping…this time in hopes of another fashion post, I just asked Amie straight out, “What designers are you liking for fall?”

Amie, who I also call A-to-the-double-R-O, responded unequivocally, “The Row”. It is that line by those Olsen twins…you know Mary-Kate and Ashley. I know it sounds weird but check it out”. When Amie speaks about fashion, I listen. So off I went to The Row. Loved it. Amie is batting 1000 with her fashion picks.

The Row offers sleek, sexy, modern pieces. Tres sophisticated in my view. The fall collection is very black with some touches of white…no-nonsense but high style silhouettes. Loving The Row!

Black with touches of white is always de rigeur in home decor too…so with New York Fashion Week getting started soon…another post where fashion and home decor meet.

Thank goodness black is still “in”. I would be doomed to nakedness if all of a sudden the fashion world decided to eliminate black…my entire fall and winter wardrobe is black with specks of a few other colors here and there. Phew.

What do you think about black in home decor? I love it in fashion and think I might like a bit of it here and there in the home….what say you dear reader?

Have a great back to school and day after the long weekend.

Must go get dressed (in black) for work….long day which includes a work party tonight…hmmmm…what to wear?

xo

P.S. Still loving my Cococozy interns Spardha T., Maria K. and Nicole C.! They are just fab. In particular, thanks to Spardha for researching this one!

I like black dresses, they look so elegant, even when colors are my life. I am painting through synesthesia which makes me see colors when I hear names and numbers. These colors I transform in paintings.

Great to learn I am on par with current color trends! I was just thinking of adding some black & white chair pads to tone down my Napoleon dining chairs. I guess B&W can never go out of fashion.

I went to the Row website, it was interesting they only make the clothes in sizes 2 4 & 6!

While I’ve never been a fan of the Olsen twins their Fall collection is beautiful! It reminds me of early Calvin Klein! As for the black furniture, I’ve always been told every room needs something black be it upholstery or furniture. My favorite set shown is the desk and bench whhic I would LOVE to have!
