Editorial note: Title of this post has changed because someone wrote in telling me I had wrongly identified the countertops as soapstone…and they are actually zinc! Will confirm with architect…but until then…title changed…but not my love for the counters!
I like this kitchen. Love the counters the most. The rich grey velvet look of this durable surface is soft and inviting. I also think that the white carrara marble subway tile backsplash is fab.
Wood floors, high end appliance, a butter cream cabinet color and great dome shaped glass and polished metal pendant lights…are the touches that make this cooking and eating space just right.
Beautiful! Love these designs!
Love this kitchen 🙂 My favorite feature is the tiled backsplash.
I’m inspired by viewing your blog to ask you a question here about paint color…do you mind?
Hi Susannah. Ask away. Would be happy to help if I can.
Tell me (or show me with your abounding photographic resources) what is going on with the color peach these days. I am moving into a new place…and I must deal with the color of it. It is a very pale peach. I’m old enough to remember peach from the ’80s, and I’m a little nauseous, honestly, thinking about it. Somewhere, someone must have revived this color and made it modern again, right?
PS. May I link your blog to mine? I’m not famous or anything, just a housewife who loves interior design. 😀
Please go right ahead. Thank you! BTW, I am not famous either…just a girl who loves interior design too. We have that in common!
Oh…about the peach paint color. You’ve stumped me! I see a lot of design photos and have not come across a lot of peach. I’ll keep looking and if I find something nice looking that could be inspirational OR if I have any ideas, I’ll post it for you.
In the meantime, any other readers have suggestions for Susannah and her soon to be pale peach house?
If you can still get this message on an old post: Right now you will find alot of peachy/blush pink with orange accents in J.Crew, looks amazing. Warm Orange and plum pillows would look good with a neutral couch. House Beautful had a dining room with coral peachy walls and lots of white molding recently. Keep it modern by not putting wood or dark brown leather and KEEP AWAY FROM GREEN with it. (that was my bedroom in the 80’s. Also I am exstatic b/c I have that French Bistro shelf to the left of the stove…I can’t believe it. I have looked everywhere to see where it came from. I got it from an antique store but I know it’s not an antique, it has a made in China sticker on the bottom. If you ask about the counters in this Kitchen, could you also ask about the French Bistro Shelf. I will watch your blog. Thanks Tara
